We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Katie Titi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Katie below.
Katie, appreciate you joining us today. If you’re open to it, can you talk to us about the best (or worst) investment you’ve made. What’s the backstory and the relevant context behind why you made the investment
The best investment I’ve made as a business owner was to hire a coach. The worst investment I’ve made as a business owner was also… hiring a coach. Hiring the right coach propels your life and business leaps and bounds. Hiring the wrong one can hold you back, delay your business growth, even negatively impact your self esteem and personal progress. There are so many different types of coaches and coaching out there. Most of it isn’t “right or wrong,” simply what’s right for you, and wrong for you, given your personality, goals, what kinds of approaches resonate or don’t resonate with you, and what kind of coaching you need as an individual. That’s why it’s so important to trust your intuition in selecting the right people to work and collaborate with, both in life and business. I personally work with highly sensitive female/feminine creatives because I understand the unique set of challenges this group faces, and how to use surprise hidden personal strengths to usher these talented brilliant women into the creative success they desire (and deserve!)
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
About Me: I work with creative, sensitive, spiritual, feminine-identifying people who’ve had it with being demobilized by self- and culturally-imposed restraints, and are aching for personal transformation.
Coaching with me may be for you if you’re ready to embrace the version of yourself that’s been hidden from the world, call your creative talents into fruition, and finally fulfill your creative vision(s).
This is about nurturing that relationship with your inner child (who is a large part of your creative genius!), strategically aligning yourself to create results, and minimizing barriers to your success.
After clarifying your vision and transmuted existing obstacles, we’ll tap into your intuitive wisdom and develop a guide that accelerates your self-expression and fulfillment of your creative manifestations.
It’ll include lots of creative play and exploration (which your inner child will <3). It will also include the structures needed to ground and accomplish intentions (which your inner adult needs to feel secure and provide). The container we create for process will leave you feeling stable and juicy.
Reach out to me if you’re ready to incorporate your free-spirited, offbeat self into your art.
How I Got Into the Industry: I’ve had many successes (and experiments and failures, as we all do!) in the creative industry. I know what it takes to succeed in the creative field as a sensitive woman with ADHD (and the pitfalls to avoid!) and I show my clients how to navigate these waters and succeed with more ease and less frustration and strife.
What I’m Most Proud Of: The results of my clients, the collaborations and relationships I’ve built, and the way I support awesome, sensitive women who are boldly calling in their dreams.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My best advice for building your audience on social media is to get clear about what you’re excited about first. You’ll also need to get clear on the results you want. For example, many marketing experts will tell you you absolutely *must have* an email list. And although I’d highly recommend it if it resonates with you, it’s not going to work out well if you hate sending marketing emails. If it’s more natural and fun for you to post on say, Instagram, that is likely an avenue that will be more successful for you long-term. You need to marry your goals with what’s fun and approachable for you, with minimal exceptions. How do I know this? Personal trial and error, and witnessing the same outcomes from folks with that same HSP+ADHD feminine background. Those of us who are strong in our feminine energy, sensitive, spiritual – we may sometimes receive *and* project more energy than we realize. We are powerful channels for energy and we often transmute those energies into art via our creative talents. Being a great creative channel as a highly sensitive person is a super power, and also a challenge to navigate. So, if you’re sending out an email that you really don’t enjoy writing (or feels more like a chore than fun), the energy associated with that post may not necessarily resonate with your readers at the level you are hoping. Energy speaks, and with us HSP+ADHD women specifically, it can speak loudly (whether we intend it to or not). So you’ll want to ensure your energy (and enjoyment!) is aligned with your approach, goals, and content creation. That’s a piece of the puzzle, but it’s an important one.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
One thing I will say is this. Sometimes it is great to be super open about what your business goals are. Knowing what you want while being detached from a specific outcome, and open to what the Universe has in store is a form of surrender and it’s a very powerful thing. You see, the Universe in its all-knowing ways, can see things we in our 3dimensional human bodies sometimes miss. So surrendering when the moment calls for it can be an incredibly powerful, humbling task. When I’ve surrendered in my business I’ve gained some very interesting and exciting opportunities. Ones I might have missed if I wasn’t open and paying attention. Things like very easy passive income streams (multiple), fabulous creative/collaborative opportunities, opportunities to give back to the community in super meaningful ways, and more. Successful surrender involves strategic risk, amongst other things. When done right, this alone is an incredibly powerful decision and action.
