Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Katie King. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Katie, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Every project is special to me in a different way, but I would say one that really stands out to me is The Last Supper, directed by Kayla Marcus. This was a project I booked off Backstage and is one of the most fulfilling projects I’ve been a part of. We worked long hours together as a team and made something I’m really proud of. I felt humbled to be doing great work with people who were motivated, kind, and ready to get to work. The movie is filled with humor, heart felt moments, twists and I can’t wait to see the finished product soon.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Katie King and I am an Atlanta based actor. I graduated from Columbus State University with a BA in Theatre Arts in 2020. After graduating, I quickly moved to Atlanta and started working in the film industry. I started auditioning and quickly fell in love with acting on camera. The projects I have done in Atlanta have ranged from horror, comedy, action and drama! I am most proud of my work ethic and my drive. Some of the best advice I ever received in college was that you could never guarantee being the most talented person on a set, but you could guarantee being the most prepared.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the most rewarding part of being an artist/creative is seeing your work affect other people. Anyone having a reaction to your work is powerful and never gets old. Whether it is making someone laugh or bringing a tear to someone’s eye, being an artist is a great way to connect to people.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
2020 was a difficult year for everyone, but it was especially a hard year for creatives. Powering through that time and finding ways to still be creative was powerful and really brought people together. I took a chance moving to Atlanta to pursue acting during the height of the pandemic, but I am so grateful that I did it.
