Back in 2015, at the age of 20, I delved into nature inspired art, seeking to encapsulate the beauty of the natural world into my creations. It was during this time that I became captivated by the art of candle making. This dual passion became the driving force behind my journey into the professional pursuit of a creative and fulfilling path.

My name is Katie Jo Novak. I am a 29 year old artisan and entrepreneur whose passion for creating candles and nature-inspired art has blossomed into a thriving business. Born and raised in a small town in Ohio, surrounded by the forests and rolling hilled landscapes of Appalachia, I developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature from a young age.

In 2015, I founded my own brand, PsycheDelicacies, with a mission to provide customers with safe, natural-based alternatives to conventional candles and home decor.

Beyond candles, my artistic expression extends to nature-inspired art pieces that capture the essence of the great outdoors. My creations often feature natural elements, either ethically self foraged or up-cycled, reflecting the beauty that surrounds us. Each piece is a harmonious blend of artistic expression and a love for the environment.

As PsycheDelicacies continues to grow, I remain dedicated to my vision of creating a brand that not only brings warmth and beauty into homes, but also serves as a beacon for sustainable and eco-conscious living. A defining chapter of resilience in my personal journey unfolded when I decided to open a brick-and-mortar location. Despite encountering challenges that led to its closure, I remained unwavering in my commitment. The experience taught me valuable lessons about adaptability and persistence. I redirected my efforts into building a successful online store. This shift ultimately worked in my favor, highlighting the importance of resilience in navigating the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
