Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Katie Hutek. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Katie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
One of my clients was able to completely change her body composition to gain mobility, endurance, and strength! She ended up losing knee pain and extra weight, and she went from a size 16 to a size 12 in less than 4 months! She says her posture has improved substantially, and her confidence has increased. She is wearing tank tops everywhere, which she never did before.
I’m happy to say that every client I’ve worked with has been able to lose weight in my program, and I believe that is a result of not just the physical tools I give them, but also the emphasis I put on mindset resiliency training. Someone can have all of the knowledge in the world to get healthier, but they need to have the mental toughness to follow through on it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My own personal growth and fitness transformation brought me to the wellness space and led to me launching my business Mindful Fitness Simplified in 2021. I saw the incredible effects of strength training, yoga, mindful eating, and meditation in my own body and mindset after reaching a personal low in 2020. I underwent a complete lifestyle transformation and the process was a lot more straightforward than I could have imagined. I want to share my knowledge of how to have your own personal wellness transformation with women who are 40+ because many of these women have received unhelpful and incorrect information about nutrition and exercise their whole lives. I want to empower these women to take control of their physical and mental health in a way that doesn’t add any more stress to their lives, I want to make it clear and simple!
What sets me apart is my holistic approach to fitness and the fact that I see strength training as accessible to people of all ages.
I aim to remove the feeling of overwhelm that many women experience when they start to think about making healthier changes and losing weight. Most of my clients just don’t know where to start or what to do. They often have vague ideas of “eating healthier” or “exercising,” but aren’t quite sure what to do that will actually get the results they’re after. All of the conflicting information they are exposed to doesn’t help!
I want to make the whole fitness journey as simple as possible, that way my clients know exactly what reaching their goals will require of them, why it’s important to implement the specific actions they are trained on, and what it will mean for them to achieve that level of health.
I’m most proud of helping my clients reduce pain and lose weight to improve their stamina, body mechanics, sleep, posture, and confidence. Every single client I have worked with has lost weight, and those who experienced knee or back pain were able to decrease or eliminate that pain. I also enjoy having my clients accomplish things they didn’t think were possible, such as strength training with a barbell, completing certain exercises, and increasing flexibility.
How did you build your audience on social media?
For anyone new on social media, the most important thing that you can do to build your audience is to create valuable content! You know your content is valuable if you are able to share something that has personally helped you. Focus on the problem you want to solve for your ideal client. Ask yourself if you would engage with the post that you have created. Make content based on what you are passionate about, NOT what you think has the best chance of going viral; that way you can attract YOUR people to you.
The second most important thing you need to build your audience on social media is consistency. Decide what is realistic for you when it comes to posting and stick to it!
Lastly, remember that these are not just numbers of likes and comments, there are actually people hitting those buttons. The next time you post and it doesn’t do as well as you expected and maybe you only got a few likes, I want you to ask yourself this: if 3 people came up to you in person and told you that they enjoyed what you put out there, how would you feel? I don’t know about you, but I would feel amazing getting a compliment like that from just 1 person! So make sure you treat everyone who engages with your post the way you would a person in real life.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Yes, absolutely! The best book that I could recommend to anyone to improve your business, relationships, and overall quality of life is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. This book contains what I consider to be the “golden rules” for thriving at life in general:
1. Be impeccable with your word
2. Don’t take anything personally
3. Don’t make assumptions
4. Always do your best
These have been so impactful for me in my personal and professional life, and I can’t imagine starting my business without these guidelines in mind!
Another resource that’s impacted my entrepreneurial thinking is Rob Dial’s The Mindset Mentor podcast and his Business Breakthrough program for aspiring coaches. I have learned so much about starting and running a coaching business, becoming the best version of myself, and the value of getting out of my comfort zone from Rob and his team. The Mindset Mentor podcast continues to give me clarity and knowledge as I grow my business.
I have learned so much about time management from Rob and from a colleague of mine, Chris Stinson of @worklifemindset. I have been able to dissuade myself from the lie “I don’t have time,” over the past year. Thanks to Chris’s time management course I have been able to regain control of my time and enjoy greater productivity and less stress.
I also highly recommend the books Quantum Success by Christy Whitman and Free Time by Jenny Blake to provide critical mindset shifts and practical tips for entrepreneurs.
