We were lucky to catch up with Katie Garland-noble recently and have shared our conversation below.
Katie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
I honestly believe that perseverance leads to success. No matter the setbacks or roadblocks, an unflinching determination to obtain a dream is key.
Making a movie is the perfect example of this. We start with a dream and a spark of inspiration. Then come the never ending hurdles. From needing a port-a-potty on a Sunday in the middle of nowhere to getting told no by 5 distributors, the obstacles seem to keep on coming.
As that saying goes, “the only way out is through.” So we have to keep thinking on our feet and finding creative solutions. We have to stay focused on the end goal and persevere.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a screenwriter, filmmaker, and podcaster. I also own a production company called Blue Himalayas Productions.
After writing multiple scripts, I decided to begin producing shorts with friends. This experience catapulted me into producing two feature films and I am now working on my third. I love telling beautiful stories. I believe that I have a gift for transmuting stories from the page to the screen.
I am most proud of the new screenplay I just finished and can’t wait to begin production on my third movie!
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I absolutely love Jim Rohn. He was an acclaimed author and motivational speaker in the 1980s. His book 7 Strategies for Wealth & Happiness is so informative and uplifting.
Listening to his motivational speeches really keeps me on point and inspires me to take action on my goals and dreams. One of his main messages is, “To have more than you’ve got, you’ve got to become more than you are.”

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I have had a screenplay I’ve dreamed of writing and tried writing for years, but I could never quite get the story right. Then this past year, I faced all of the internal fears surrounding the project. I sat down every day for four months and finished the screenplay.
Writing is a wonderful metaphor for life. Stories or dreams can dance around in our heads, but most of us really have to make a conscious and consistent effort to actualize our dreams and bring them into physical reality. This example may seem small and insignificant to some people, but to me, it is everything. I hope it inspires someone to look within and start taking daily and consistent action towards a goal or dream they’ve had for days, weeks or even years.
