We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Katie Bressack. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Katie below.
Katie, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
I have so many of these stories to share, but the common theme is not to compare your healing to someone else’s. It can take months or even years of not eating for your hormones, stress and lack of sleep to create symptoms in the body like PMS, missing periods, PMS, stubborn weight loss. It can and will take time for your body to feel supported and reduce symptoms. I always share with my clients that our body can only talk to us by showing us what feels off, so notice the your energy levels, cravings and mood so we can understand where you are starting from and notice how each layer of support changes how you feel. Besides comparison, having patience is one of the most important pieces of the healing journey as well.

Katie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve always loved helping and supporting people and am truly living my soul’s work in my 16-year career. I started my career ad a yoga teacher and went back to school to become a holistic nutritionist and women’s health coach after I realized my first career of print and digital media was not the career for me.
I support busy women with nutrition and wellness counseling with a specialty in hormonal health; such as painful periods, PCOS, heavy/irregular periods, amenorrhea and thyroid imbalances, post birth control, pre/postnatal and preparing for pregnancy. I also helps women transition through perimenopause and menopause.
Another big piece of my business is corporate wellness. I always say that I wish I knew half of what I know now when I was sitting at a desk in a office. Now I partner with businesses all over the country to improve the company’s culture with corporate wellness programs. I love collaborating with the HR departments and wellness teams to make a difference in someone’s health.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
One of the most helpful things I’ve done as a business owner since day one is becoming part of the community I live in. When I started there was just Facebook, so I did a lot of local workshops. This helped me from day one connect to incredible people who became clients who are still friends and also met so many amazing like minded people who helped me build my business. Since then I’ve moved again and have the community I built online with the clients over the past 16 years who continue to cheer me on and refer clients to me. I love that I’ve been able to stay in touch with everyone over the years and really value all the trust that have put into me and my business.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Three years ago I started a podcast with my friend and business partner Stasha Washburn. We met years ago at a networking party in LA where we were both living. We both worked with women and their periods and a mutual friend introduced us. What I really value about our partnership is that we are both cheering each other on in our individual businesses. We first started meeting once a week as a support system that grew into starting a podcast, creating paid workshops, to know now having sponsors and ads, to our very first Period Besties live summit in September. It’s been fun. and we both balance each other out since we both have very different streghtns. It’s been one of the best things I’ve done in my career and I’m so excited for what’s next.
