Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Katie Beecher. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Katie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I still vividly remember the day I started to release my fear and allow my authentic self to emerge, with the help of what I am convinced is divine intervention. This was the first time I felt truly connected to my intuition and decided to trust it, though I had no idea that was what I was doing at the time.
It was winter during my senior year in high school, and I was struggling with bulimia. I had also recently found out that I received a scholarship to George Washington University. The thought of being able to move away from my parents and live six hours away from my dysfunctional homelife in Connecticut was exciting and gave me hope for the future. I hadn’t felt hopeful in a very long time.
I’m not sure exactly what gave me the courage, but I came home from school one day and picked up the yellow rotary wall phone in the kitchen, my hands shaking as I dialed the number of our family pediatrician, Dr. Merman. When I told him that I was eating a lot and throwing up three times a day, he initially said that he thought I would be fine, that it wasn’t any cause for concern. In 1983, not very much was known about eating disorders. I even used the word “bulimic,” which I had never used before. I had never been so afraid to make a phone call in my entire life, and I’m so thankful that whatever gave me the courage and motivation to call also made me fight to make sure that he listened to me. I didn’t tell him that if he didn’t give me the name of a therapist, I was considering ending my life by driving my car into a wall. I thought he might tell my parents, who would put me into a hospital, and then everyone would find out how really screwed up I was. Fortunately, he took what I was saying seriously, and he gave me the name of a therapist: Jean Sutherland, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who was trained in Jungian psychology.
On my first day of therapy, I had what I can only describe as an out-of-body experience. I felt the presence of a force that had always been a part of me but that I never recognized. It was an inner strength and an inner love. It was making me fight and telling me I could win. It was telling me that I could beat this.
I inhaled everything my therapist gave me to read and attended appointments every week until I went off to college that fall. While I was engaging in eating-disordered behaviors less and less, I still had a long way to go emotionally. I continued with therapy at school, and within a couple of years, I had stopped the bingeing and purging, and other eating-disordered behaviors. I also learned how to connect to my intuition and work with my spiritual gifts without fear.
I consider Bulimia to be one of my greatest teachers and greatest gifts. If I had not gone through that experience, I would not only still be engaged in dysfunctional family relationships and be struggling with self-worth, but I would also not be doing the work I am today.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
What Happens During A Medical & Emotional Intuitive Reading or an Intuitive Consultation?
The only information I need to begin a reading is a name and age. I don’t need to speak with my client or see a photo. I am clairaudient, clairvoyant and clairsentient. This means I receive auditory and visual information and even physical symptoms from my spiritual guides.
First, I create a FOUR PAGE report with information Spirit and my guides tell me about my client’s life and health. This can include childhood events both positive and negative, personality characteristics, family history, appearance, relationships, intuitive ability, behavior patterns, physical symptoms and much more. Then, I paint a symbolic picture of my client in watercolor. The shapes, colors, symbols and words I paint and see are all significant. I send the report and painting to the client before the one hour meeting.
My guides detect the physical, emotional and spiritual root causes of symptoms and illness, highlight strengths and reveal intuitive and empathic abilities. I help people connect to intuition and empower their own inner healing. I teach people how to create self esteem and self acceptance. Together we develop an individualized plan going forward for healing and growth, enabling transformation physically, emotionally and spiritually and preventing future problems. I also provide information regarding nutrition and supplements. Finally, if necessary, I help people connect to other healthcare professionals or communicate with professionals already on their team.
My book, Heal from Within: A Guidebook to Intuitive Wellness, is published internationally by St Martins Press, Yellow Kite and Macmillan. It is my first book and was released on February 15, 2022. It is filled with valuable information about root cause healing and wellness from my spiritual guides and thirty years of experience. My website is www.katiebeecher.com so you can learn more about the unique work I do.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I have a successful, six figure business because of belief in myself and determination. I wasn’t trained to be a medical intuitive and while I have a master’s in counseling degree, the majority of what I have learned has come from my own personal healing journey and experience working with clients. I have been doing this work for over 30 years, primarily as a Licensed Counselor and for the past ten years as a medical and spiritual intuitive. When I began the new phase of my career, I practiced for a year before charging people for readings. I learned that I didn’t have to be perfect and that it was okay to make mistakes. I had to be willing to take those risks in order to listen to what my guides and intuition were saying. I stopped caring about what negative people thought and said. There will always be those people but they don’t really know who you are or what you are doing. Anxiety blocks the process.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Clients find me from articles I write, social media, interviews in magazines, online and on podcasts, speaking engagements, my new book and from other clients I’ve worked with. People frequently ask how I have been featured by so many prominent media outlets and the answer is simply that I put myself out there. I contact them by email or social media with information about myself and what I do. I don’t always receive a response, but I often do. You can’t take it personally if you don’t receive a response. There is no substitute for hard work, but it can be exhausting. Self care is very important.
