We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kati Zuromski a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kati thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I had been in marketing for about 5 years before opening my own marketing agency, I had decided after talking with a dear friend to become a licensed Realtor, when a fellow Realtor came to me in 2015 looking for help with their social media pages and overall marketing. They just didn’t have enough time in the day to manage their business and promote themselves. The idea was instantly born, I knew if one Realtor needed assistance there were more out there in need as well. I worked hard to start gaining knowledge about all digital platforms, creative techniques, and what would really help my clients not only be successful but also stress less.
It was craziness those first few years, I was juggling starting this business that rapidly was taking off organically through word of mouth and becoming a mom to my two littles born a year and two weeks apart. There were times I would be getting up at 3 or 4AM to get work done for my clients before my husband left for the day, all-nighters happening whether it was the babies being up or getting work done for my clients. I wanted to provide the best to my clients and 5-star service 100% of the time to my clients but also wanted to make sure I was a present wife and mother which was sometimes tough to juggle. I believed in this business, I knew if I kept at it that one day it would pay off, now that’s not to say there weren’t days I wanted to throw in the towel. At one point I worked 4 jobs at once to help make ends meet, not have my kids in daycare thanks to jobs I could take them to and family help, and keep this business overall going. Grateful to my husband BJ, on those days when I didn’t think I could keep it all together, he was there cheering me on and always ready to help. He kept me inspired to keep following my dreams.
So, I followed them. I kept at it and slowly the extra jobs started to fall off as my client base grew and grew. I started expanding not only the different services I could offer but also my team. Front Range Alpha Marketing was born and is in full swing! Things were going in the right direction, I knew this business would work because there was a desperate need for assistance for not only Realtors but any business or entrepreneur out there trying to navigate the digital market. As time continues to tick by it’s become extremely apparent that every business, large or small, needs to have some sort of a digital footprint. I saw this need and knew that if I could offer services that either no one else was offering, or offer them at such an elite level that would help me stand out from the crowd.
Fast forward a few more years, my kids are a little older, and my digital business is now nationwide helping different businesses and entrepreneurs across the country. Now, what’s life without a curveball or two? In 2022 my husband was in an unfortunate accident breaking both of his ankles, leaving him wheelchair-bound for a few months and unable to work. Which meant my income was our only income in the blink of an eye. Front Range Alpha Marketing was my main income but I did still work as a Realtor and I knew I could not juggle our new dynamic at home, the agency, and real estate. That was my all-in moment, I knew real estate would have to take a back seat and I was about to go full force into marketing with no other distractions.
Front Range Alpha Marketing exploded that year, we double our book of business, and I couldn’t be more proud of my agency. Above all though, I truly enjoy seeing my clients so happy, thriving, and overall just enjoying their lives and businesses again as well.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Sure can! My name is Kati Zuromski, I am 34 years old and the proud owner of Front Range Alpha Marketing. I am a wife and mom of 2 littles as well as 2 rescue pups, when I am not working I enjoy traveling and being outdoors with my family. I dive into what Front Range Alpha Marketing does, it was originally launched in 2015 as a referral-based Social Media Management Agency focused on helping Realtors grow their online presence through all social media platforms. After scaling to a nationwide agency, and officially becoming Front Range Alpha Marketing, we help in social media management, influencer brand management, virtual assistance, SEO management, and so much more! We opened our doors to any and all businesses, and now help all industry leaders leverage their online community.
We help our clients organize, brand, do analytic analysis, copywriting, website building, logo design, email campaigns, content creation, and manage and engage their audiences at a high level to make their business top of mind in their industry.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me is referrals. We love receiving referrals from our clients, it is always an honor to be entrusted enough for someone to recommend us. I have built my business 100% on word of mouth and love being able to also speak at different businesses and events as well.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
The first thing you have to realize, I feel, when running a team and keeping morale up is knowing that it won’t always be easy. When I am picking my team I work hard to not only test the skill levels that are required for the position but also work to see what their mindset is before coming to work for me. I try to learn their work ethic, what helps drive them, and what they enjoy doing outside of work. I let my team know how much I appreciate them and their hard work. I always make sure everyone has set on-the-clock boundaries before working for me, meaning I want to make sure they clock out and take breaks, have time with family or friends, and get out to travel or do something they enjoy. It can be very easy in the digital world to get pulled in working all hours without even realizing it. So expectations are set, you need time off it’s important for your mental health and work-life balance.
