Kathoustra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

The story of Sabine Essentials started with a challenging journey. In 2014, I received a devastating diagnosis of myoma, a large mass in the uterus, leaving me feeling utterly helpless. To compound my troubles, I also experienced significant hair loss, which made my hair appear dull and lifeless.

After futile attempts with various hair products found online, I took matters into my own hands. Determined, I delved into intensive research and began experimenting with different ingredients and methods to create hair products tailored to my needs. Eventually, I formulated an oil that halted my hair loss and revitalized and strengthened my hair.

The remarkable results astounded me, prompting me to share the oil with friends equally thrilled with the outcomes. As demand surged, the birth of Sabine Essentials was inevitable. Today, we take pride in offering all-natural hair care products to customers worldwide, empowering them to embrace their natural hair and feel confident and beautiful.

In addition to our all-natural hair products, we provide personalized hair consultations. Each of our hair care collections is meticulously crafted to address specific hair concerns and is accompanied by a three-month routine designed to optimize results.

Kathoustra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m Kathoustra Lalanne, the visionary and creator behind Sabine Essentials. With a finance degree and a cosmetic formulation license, Despite my accomplishments, I remain a simple and down-to-earth individual who values relaxation amidst my busy schedule and honesty above all else. Taking care of my physical and mental health is paramount, and I prioritize it, even with my demanding lifestyle.

Upon immigrating to the US in 2019, I faced the disheartening reality that the hair products I used were causing further damage and exacerbating my hair loss. Frustrated by the lack of success with numerous online products, I took matters into my own hands. Through diligent research and experimentation, I developed a range of hair products using different ingredients and methods tailored to my specific needs. This led me to formulate an oil that halted my hair loss and restored its strength and vitality.

At Sabine Essentials, we are committed to offering all-natural and organic products that harness the power of plants, roots, and fruits without harmful chemicals. We understand our clients’ diverse hair types and unique challenges, so we have carefully curated products to address specific hair concerns.

I take immense pride in creating products that nourish and revitalize Afro hair types, allowing individuals to wear their crowns wherever they go confidently.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

When I arrived in the US, I didn’t have a job. I started my business with only $20 left from the allowance provided by my significant other. Determined to pursue my entrepreneurial dreams, I saved for months while researching the necessary ingredients and supplies to create my hair care oil on a larger scale. To my surprise, my significant other became the first investor in my brand, showing unwavering support for my vision.

With their belief in me, I was able to take the necessary steps to expand my business and bring my products to a wider audience. This initial investment became the foundation upon which Sabine Essential was built, and I am grateful for their trust and belief in my abilities.

Starting with humble beginnings, I have worked tirelessly to establish and grow Sabine Essential into its current brand, committed to providing high-quality hair care solutions.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

In the early stages, I faced the challenge of not having my own dedicated workspace. I was living with my cousin, and with limited storage options, I resorted to packing my clothes in suitcases to create room for storing ingredients and supplies. To maintain hygiene standards, I would meticulously sanitize the area before and after creating the products, often working late into the night while everyone else was asleep.

Despite my best efforts, there were hurdles to overcome. I encountered situations where clients claimed they hadn’t received their packages and requested refunds. However, many of these instances were resolved when they realized they had forgotten the tracking numbers that provided proof of delivery.

The heartfelt testimonials from my clients fueled my determination during these difficult times. From a 5-year-old girl to a 40-year-old woman, they expressed their love for how their hair felt and how it had grown using my products. These testimonials constantly reminded me of the positive impact I was making in their lives, encouraging me to persevere and continue improving my offerings.
