Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kathleen Day. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kathleen, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
When it comes to risk-taking, I’d have to say the biggest risk I ever took was betting on myself.
As a neurodivergent individual with medium-support needs, the business side of things has always been the hard part for me. I excel in abstract thinking, pattern recognition, communication (I’m hyperlexic), and all things creative. I grew up labeled “book smart”. Despite my strengths, number processing and finances are an inherent handicap.
Anyone would suggest sticking to a day job under those circumstances, since the business end is the most important part of running a business! I took the leap regardless for a few reasons. One of which is a sharp desire to combat ableism within the entrepreneurial space. Another being that I had already been helping to change people’s lives for the better at no charge while I was educating in the life coaching field, so my faith in my inherent ability to do the work was firmly intact.
The most important reason for me was time vs. who I was doing this for. I knew that coming into my prime, time would be increasingly limited to build something of lasting value. And the most important person in my life—my son, who also has special needs—is dependent upon me succeeding and providing for him even after I’m gone. The motivation was there, and it far outweighed my fear of starting and potentially failing. It’s the old adage, “It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to exist. You can make it pretty later.”

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The short of the long is that I’ve held a lifelong interest in psychology and continued to self-educate post-high school. Helping others has always been the most rewarding experience, and I came to find that mentoring others through their healing journey was also helpful in my own healing.
As an intuitive life coach, I offer bespoke coaching for creatives, entrepreneurs and professionals seeking deep alignment and personal transformation. Since 2014, I’ve integrated Jungian psychology, shadow work and intuitive strategy to help clients overcome limitations, rediscover clarity and step into their highest potential.
Trauma survivors, individuals with anxiety and mental health issues have found my practices and approach empathetic as I actively create a safe space through unbiased listening, compassionate guidance and deep shadow work meant to help the client in breaking self sabotaging habits, reacquaint with their inner child and navigate grief / depression / daily anxiety.
As for what sets me apart, my practice is anything but cookie-cutter. It’s my aim above all else to organically delve into the specific needs of each individual I work with and develop a clear outline to work through their obstacles and issues, entirely tailored to them. My methods are wholly intuitive, and in that, cannot be duplicated.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Intuition. That part of what I do cannot be taught. However, for those who possess it, along with empathy, compassion and a driving desire to help others navigate their hardships, heal and succeed—I can definitely teach them how to harness those abilities in a way that can be invaluable to others.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Authenticity, transparency and visible results in the improvement of my individual clients’ lives. For over a decade, I’ve engaged in my practice primarily by word of mouth. The reputation I’ve cultivated, not only for helping my clients, but for being genuinely kind and open toward colleagues and peers both in and out of the industry is what I’m most proud of. Mostly because it’s not an act. I love seeing others flourish, and I love to play whatever small role I’m able to in order to help them along their way. When I lend my time and space, it comes from my heart center, and I think people can tell.
