We were lucky to catch up with Katherine Zammuto recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Katherine, thanks for joining us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Four years ago, I started my podcast Kat on the Loose as a personal pet project, hoping to share my experiences and insights about dating and relationships after leaving a long and abusive marriage. What began as a small venture slowly but surely grew into one of the top podcasts in the world, thanks to relentless consistency, dedication, and constant engagement with my audience. Building this platform has been a labor of love—requiring countless hours of work, thoughtful content creation, and actively connecting with my listeners on every episode. It’s been challenging, but the reward is in seeing how much my audience resonates with the honesty and authenticity I bring. Through dedication and passion, Kat on the Loose has not only become a platform to inspire but also evolved into a successful side business that continues to thrive.
In the beginning I thought it was going to be easy and fun, like most podcasters do, and then I realized that like any business, if you want to rise to the top and make it profitable you need to show up for yourself every single day, even on days when you don’t feel like it or feel like quitting because everything is so difficult. The name of the game for me is definitely perserverance

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I AM HALF FRENCH AND HALF BRAZILIAN AND HAVE LIVED IN THE US SINCE SHE WAS A TEENAGER.
I GREW UP IN CA AND STARTED WORKING IN THE MODELING INDUSTRY AT A VERY EARLY AGE – MY FATHER WAS A TV AND VIDEO PRODUCER.
MY LIFELONG EXPERIENCE WITH VIDEO AND PHOTOGRAPHY MAKES HER SUPER COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA, AND CLIENTS AND BRANDS LOVE THE NATURAL, ORGANIC APPROACH OF HER WORK.
I AM AN ARTIST WITH A PASSION FOR MULTIPLE CREATIVE FIELDS WITH A BACKGROUND IN MODELING, ACTING, DIGITAL MEDIA AND NOW MY HIT PODCAST KAT ON THE LOOSE WHERE I TALKS ABOUT THE WORLD OF DATING & RELATIONSHIPS IS ON THE TOP OF THE USA CHARTS
MY ACTING CAREER IS ALSO SLOWLY FLOURISHING AND I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF SHOOTING AN UPCOMING INDIE MOVIE THAT WILL BE OUT IN 2025
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I was married to a multimillionaire alcoholic for 14 years that was not supportive of me working at all so slowly I gave up all my projects and passions for this very abusive marriage.
When I finally gathered the strength to leave and start over my life from zero a few years ago, I realized the importance of women’s financial independence and how we have a voice to tell our stories – and this is how my podcast Kat on the Loose started – fast forward four years later I run several successful businesses and I have a worldwide audience and I am so proud that we get to share stories and learn and grow together – and my message is that it is never too late to start over or go after your dreams and I am living proof of that
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part for me as an artist is that I get to tell stories and I have a voice and we get to speak up and share our experiences with other women out there that might be going through similar situations. at the end of the day, as an actor, podcaster, producer, woman and immigrant, I love that I am able to tell so many stories and meet so many amazing people along the way with my work.
