Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Katherine Fleischman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Katherine, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The story behind my mission is to represent entrepreneurs and small businesses that may not otherwise have a voice. The entrepreneurs I work with are the ones with great ideas, they are innovative and relentless and share the same passion and drive that I do. Some of my first clients are currently billion dollar companies. The reason for this is a great idea meets a passionate and innovative entrepreneur plus relentless work and energy. I love telling their stories and getting the word out.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I got into the industry as a Masters in PR student at NYU. I went to every possible event in NYC, handing out business cards, networking and landed my first event job for a fashion designer. I worked out of my apartment and had top stylists pulling samples from my room! I now offer full PR services including press release writing, pitching print, online and broadcast editors as well as following up and reporting clips and news articles and interviews. I am different than others becauseI represent entrepreneurs that have incredible ideas, but don’t want a corporate approach. I am most proud of getting hits for all types of clients in different industries in top tier press including Bloomberg, GMA, WSJ, NYTimes, Fast Company, wired and more.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Back in 2009-2016, I had a full office of staff and account execs as well as an accountant, I felt I did not have the flexibility to travel, live my life and grow a family- I was always stuck in the office delegating work to others, I decided that route was not for me, got rid of the office and staff and went completely freelance. It was the best pivot of my life and allowed for more flexibility and control of the work quality.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
They are so unknown- a big question mark- and still evolving- there is much confusion on the topic, but they are definitely a big part of our future since digital currency and technology is taking over our lives.
