We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Katerina Erbesova a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Katerina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
I think it’s so important to differ. Anyone can go to school and study something or learn online in today’s environment, which is awesome. Education is power. However, I think if you really want to make a difference, you need to think things through and take action that others wouldn’t. That can be as simple as positioning yourself, using your personality as the main feature of your brand, asking uncomfortable questions, and bringing topics that don’t always go viral but create great conversations and make people think outside of the box.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Of course, my name is Katerina, and I’ve been working as a Social Media Marketing Specialist for the past 5 years. My start was not planned at all. I accidentally touched social media strategy for the first time years ago in Switzerland, and I quite liked it. My aim was always to create a lifestyle that would allow me to see my family whenever needed and touch on projects that are truly important to me. So, I’ve come across a coaching program I took, which was a start to my investing journey and career path. 5 years later, I’m still here, investing, improving, and doing what excites me.
I currently do sort of everything, from done for you social media services and consulting to running a thriving membership to help women navigate entrepreneurship. I love every single piece of it. I’m now working on some small products that can help people who are not ready to invest yet want to see the results.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
So, the funny thing is that my audience is not huge. I even deleted over 1,500 people over time. But I’ve helped clients build their audience by thousands, and I want to share that nothing is impossible for you.
The one thing that helps you get forward to build your audience is really being authentic, sharing what you live by, not being afraid to repeat things because not everyone will see everything, and being consistent and giving it enough time. That never means posting 7 times a week, or
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Not being afraid of hearing no. I meet many new entrepreneurs asking me: “How did you get to where you’re now?” when I ask them what they do, they are working on their Instagram or TikTok, thinking people will find them. And yes, they eventually will, but the most important thing is to reach out. When I first started, I was sending 25 messages a day.
When business slows down, I start outreach and always have some leads on standby, just in case. You can’t ever expect people just to come to you if you’re starting. And never be afraid to invest in the processes because if that makes your work easier and the experience better, it’s helping you bring on more clients in the long run. Clients do talk and do recommend!”
