We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Katelyn Molesky. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Katelyn below.
Katelyn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I have learned that Modeling is always a learning experience no matter how long you have been doing it. With every photoshoot and runway show you can always find a new technique or little trick to help you out. One important thing I have learned is to just be yourself and be confident with everything you do. Being authentic and comfortable with who you are, especially around photographers and fellow models, can make a huge difference in your career. Creating a positive atmosphere helps show your true personality in front of the camera. I have found that photographers and others in the industry often appreciate when you are natural and confident because it makes it easier for them to capture more powerful images. Another important thing I have learned is building mutual respect and openness with other models is crucial, this can open so many doors for you and further your career.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Katelyn Molesky, I am a Fashion Model in Charlotte, North Carolina. I always loved the idea of modeling growing up and seeing the creativity and storytelling that modeling conveys. I often struggled with self confidence, but modeling became a way for me to embrace my uniqueness and inspire others to do the same. As a model I collaborate with designers, photographers, brands, and creative teams to help bring visions to life. My work includes editorial, commercial, and runway shoots. I believe modeling is not about how you look but making meaningful connection and inspiring others to be confident. What sets me apart is my commitment to represent authenticity and inclusivity. I love to advocate for breaking traditional beauty standards and highlighting the beauty of each individual person and their uniqueness. I am proud to be a part of The Charlotte Fashion Collective, a collective that includes models of all abilities, sizes, and backgrounds. Seeing people feel seen and valued at the CFC events brings me joy. Whether it’s walking the runway, posing for a photoshoot, or representing a brand, I aim to leave a lasting impact that goes beyond the surface.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My two main goals as a model are simple, my first goal is to make memories, my second goal being to help others have self confidence. Modeling for me is not just about the photoshoots or runway shows, it is about the experiences I make along the way and the impact I have on others. Every project I take part in is an opportunity to connect with people, share stories, and celebrate individuality. Whether it’s working with a designer, collaborating with a photographer, I cherish the memories made with the incredible teams I get to work alongside. These moments remind me that modeling is as much about the journey as it is about the results. More importantly, I want to use my platform to inspire others to feel confident in their own skin. Modeling has taught me that true beauty comes from embracing who you are, flaws and all. At the end of the day, my goal isn’t just to create beautiful images, it’s to leave a positive impact, make lasting memories, and help others realize that confidence starts from within. If I can help even one person feel seen, valued, and inspired, then I know I’m doing something meaningful with this journey.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being a model is an incredibly rewarding experience, not just because of the glamour often associated with it but the unique role I get to play in making visions come to life. Every project is a collaboration with talented designers, photographers, stylists, and other creatives, and there’s something truly special about playing a part that transforms an idea into reality. Modeling for designers is particularly fulfilling because you’re helping showcase their hard work, artistry, and innovation. Seeing their excitement when their creations come to life on the runway or in a finished photo is incredibly rewarding. It’s a reminder that modeling is about more than just appearance but it’s about being a part of a bigger picture and celebrating the art and effort behind every piece. What makes it even more rewarding is the connection with people who resonate with the work. Modeling isn’t just about being in front of the camera but it’s about being part of something creative, collaborative, and meaningful.
