We recently connected with Kate Rose and have shared our conversation below.
Kate , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I’ve always been attracted to living a healthy lifestyle and achieving spiritual wellbeing. It wasn’t until I became a mother in 2022 that I truly understood the importance of practicing self-care. The postpartum hormonal changes were overwhelming, and I found myself searching for healthy rituals and remedies to balance my body and mind. That’s when I discovered the magic of rosemary, growing right in my own garden. I started crafting my own rosemary oil, which quickly became a staple item among my self-care rituals.
As I shared it with friends, I realized the value of helping others discover their own path to wellness. I started doing research and crafting my own products using organic, carefully sourced ingredients. I created small batches and shared among trusted people for feedback, a practice I continue to utilize as part of my product development process. I’m still in an early growth phase and will tweak processes as required to ensure I’m always delivering a product I am proud of.
The priority of Bien Botanicals is to deliver high-quality, naturally derived products developed with the intention that people will appreciate the benefits each product may provide. Further, I encourage customers to develop their own wellness rituals that incorporate Bien Botanical products so they can maximize the wellness benefits. If you can, visualize a tool-belt where each tool is intended to be used for something specific. Some tools will be used more frequently than others. I like to think of Bien Botanical products as tools that are part of a wellness toolkit that are paired according to the appropriate wellness ritual.
By implementing self care rituals into my day, I learned that it becomes easy to prioritize my personal needs and use products that are made to make me feel like my best self. This ultimately allows me to be more present in my day and ready for what life has in store for me.
Since August 2024, I’ve been sharing my products at markets around NYC. This has provided me the opportunity to meet and talk with people, where I get to hear about their wellness journey and what they are looking for. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to support others in making great decisions for themselves as I am truly dedicated to helping others find their own path to wellness. It’s got me so excited to expand my reach through pop-up markets, wellness events, expos, and brand collaborations. My mission is to provide products and services that support healthy lifestyles, and I’m thrilled to be on this journey, making a positive impact in the world.
I’ve learned over the last few years that having a positive relationship with ourselves and our health, is a concept that may feel unattainable for some. The concept of being healthy, or becoming fit, may be perceived as being a trend, or a fad. What’s worse, is the unfortunate misconception that choosing a healthy lifestyle is expensive, and only for wealthy people. Investing in one’s health and wellness, whether it be the investment of time, effort and/or money, is just that: an investment. With that said, the investment should be made with purpose, not on a whim. Adding random wellness products to a cart out of convenience is not aligned with living with purpose and intention.
I’m really proud to say my family and friends are my biggest inspiration and fully support what I do. I get to share the love and importance of wellness with them. I am also proud to share that my advisory board members include 3 entrepreneurs from New York City who continually contribute their specialized insight to the growth and development of my brand.
It’s been so inspiring to me to work on something that I’m genuinely proud of and passionate for. I’m also thriving on knowing others are enjoying the products I am crafting and integrating the products into their daily wellness rituals. These practices were not something I grew up knowing about, but the more I was exposed, the more I was open to really learning and practicing how to improve my overall health and well-being. I believe it’s my obligation to share what I’ve learned, and continue to learn, so others can make different or better decisions along their own wellness journey.
The possibilities for growth and expansion within the wellness community are endless and I will always explore opportunities that are aligned for Bien Botanicals. For now, I am loving the process and the journey that I am on. The highs, the lows, the successes and the failures: I am here to learn from them all. I am hoping long term to inspire others to take their time, take care and nurture themselves- to live well. Vive bien.
Kate , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Kate Rose, I’m the CEO of Bien Botanicals. Born and raised in NYC. I’m a full time mom and entrepreneur. I love to surround myself with my loved ones, travel and disconnect in nature whenever I can. Explore new areas, culture, food, and different environments.
I’m so proud to be on this journey and am so excited to see where this takes me.
Bien Botanicals LLC represents only one of the over 13 million small businesses in the United States that is woman-owned and operated. Bien Botanicals is committed to partnering with other small businesses as aligned opportunities present themselves. The consumer benefits of purchasing from a small business not only include obtaining the desired product but realizing the chance to communicate with the creator directly and potentially influencing future product development decisions. Purchasing products that are hand-crafted in small batches allows the creator to carefully monitor all aspects of the product cycle from conception to testing, to quality-control, to packaging, to marketing and, finally, to customer fulfillment.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The wellness community is an incredible community that is diverse and universal. Connecting with like minded people in places like markets, expos, festivals, and events are amazing places to connect with people. Interacting with others directly over the internet is another great place to seek community when it comes to networking whether on social media pages, group pages, blogs and forums. The power that is held when people coming together to support the same thing, truly is inspiring to me.
