Kate, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
AshbyLane Co. started as a way to provide quality jewelry that won’t break the bank. AshbyLane offers two types of metals- 24K Gold Plated, and 14K Gold Filled. This offers both- a low-cost option, and a high quality option. AshbyLane has always been centered around providing, quality, affordable jewelry for everyone. As a current college student, I always want to ensure that the products I sell are affordable, but are also high quality.

AshbyLane Co. was started in 2016, as a way to provide affordable, high quality, custom jewelry to celebrate the little things in life. AshbyLane offers a wide range of jewelry, but some of my favorite pieces are from our personalized line. When purchasing a personalized bracelet, you are able to custom pick what you want each bracelet to say. This can be a great conversation starter, or even the perfect gift to let someone know you really care. It will always be an honor to get to serve such amazing clients, and help make life’s little moments a little bit more special with custom jewelry!
Have you ever had to pivot?
Back when I founded AshbyLane Co., everything was on Instagram. I communicated with customer through Instagram Direct Message, and all of my products were listed as grid posts, with the occasional mix of some lifestyle shots mixed in. All of this went well, until I reached a volume of products as well as clients that needed a more structured platform. So, I went back to the brainstorming process, and decided to create a website. Over the course of a few months, I fully immersed myself in all things web design. Fonts, messaging, branding colors, even some coding. The vision for this new site would be a luxury experience, not just shopping on your standard local business site. I wanted my clients to enjoy browsing through all of my products, not just scrolling mindlessly. Thus, ashbylaneco.com was born!
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
The primary way customers stay in touch with me is through social media. Mostly Instagram Direct Message, however occasionally I will get a message on Tik Tok or Facebook. A few close, very supportive clients even have my phone number! I want to make sure I am easily accessible, and always available to help! My customers know- if there is ever an issue with any product they have purchased from me, I will fix it! I never want a customer to be hesitant to reach out with any questions or concerns. My goal is to always ensure there is a personal touch to my brand. Whether it’s about a new collection, or just random updates, I like to go on Instagram stories and film myself talking. I feel like this adds a relational aspect to social media, so that my followers can see my face and hear my voice when I talk about new and exciting updates!
