We were lucky to catch up with Kassandra Wislon recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kassandra , thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was leaving a stable nursing job with a great med spa to start my own medical spa, Alchemy Aesthetics. I had a good job, consistent income, and met some wonderful people while working— but I also wanted to have a job a little closer to home. I did not want to go back to floor nursing because I fell in love with aesthetics. I had a vision. I wanted to create a space that blended science and beauty, where people could feel confident and cared for in my hometown because there was no Medical Spa in our community.
I took the leap in 2025 — walking away from my employer with no safety net, securing funding, handling licensing, construction, and compliance from the ground up. There were moments of fear and uncertainty, but also incredible growth. Every challenge — from building inspections to finding the right medical director — taught me something new about leadership, resilience, and trust in myself.
The risk paid off. Now, Alchemy Aesthetics is more than a spa — it’s a reflection of everything I believe in: empowerment, education, and transformation. Looking back, the scariest decision became the most rewarding one. Sometimes, you have to bet on yourself — that’s where the magic happens.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kassandra Wilson, RN, and I’m the founder of Alchemy Aesthetics Company, a medical spa located in Ironton, Ohio. I’ve been in the medical field for over 15 years, with the past few years focused on aesthetics — a field that blends my love for science, artistry, and helping others feel confident in their own skin.
Alchemy Aesthetics was built around the belief that beauty and science go hand-in-hand. We specialize in injectable treatments such as Botox, lip and facial filler, medical weight loss, and wellness injections, offering customized treatment plans that enhance natural beauty rather than changing it. Every service is backed by clinical precision and patient education, ensuring that our clients feel empowered, informed, and cared for every step of the way.
What sets us apart is our commitment to balance and authenticity — we focus on harmonizing facial features, improving skin health, and supporting overall wellness, not just quick fixes. Our goal is for every patient to walk out feeling refreshed, confident, and more like themselves.
I’m most proud of creating a space where people from our community can experience luxury-level care without having to travel far from home. Alchemy Aesthetics isn’t just a med spa — it’s a place where confidence, compassion, and clinical expertise meet.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
In aesthetics, success depends just as much on emotional intelligence and trust as it does on technical skill. You’re not just injecting a product — you’re building confidence, relationships, and long-term trust with each patient.
Empathy and genuine connection are everything. Patients want to feel heard, not sold to. I think being able to listen, educate, and guide them with honesty and compassion is what truly sets great providers apart.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Absolutely!. Nursing has given me the foundation to understand people, medicine, and the power of human connection. Aesthetics became the bridge between my medical background and my creative side. It allows me to combine science, artistry, and confidence-building every single day. If anything, I would have taken the leap sooner.
