We recently connected with Kassandra Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kassandra, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope to leave a legacy of love behind. Times are so tough, with so much judgement…especially on women’s bodies. It is my hope to not only break the beauty standards but inspire women to feel confident in their bodies through fashion. It is a powerful tool to have. I learned from a young age to drown out the hateful noise regarding what my body looked like. I learned how easily I could feel beautiful with a powerful outfit on. With creating our brand, that has always been our mission. It is my greatest hope that when I am gone I am remembered as a woman who was inspiring, outspoken and loving to everyone. More than that someone who was an advocate for women.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am the proud owner of Girl Almighty. We are an online clothing store that offers women’s clothing for all sizes running from XS to 3XL. In addition to this, we also have The Girl Almighty Foundation, a non-profit that strives to provide a platform for all women to feel empowered. This is done through giving back to our local community, supporting women owned businesses and providing resources and mentorships to educate young creatives to pursue their dreams.
Of course we are not the only entity in town that is working towards the same goals, and we don’t aim to be. We love that the fashion community has grown so much and we love to help out however we can. We have many plans of expanding into local businesses where we can host monthly meet ups, panels, and workshops for women entrepreneurs.
Something to know is that it isn’t just me. I have an amazing business partner, Kenedy Navarro, who helps out by creating graphics, assisting in events, building our website and being a supportive friend whenever needed. We are a company for women run completely by women.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Having a background in business, I have had to create my own “world” with Girl Almighty. We are taught that the most important thing is to sell, sell, sell. And while it is amazing for us to get a return on our investments and we do strive to do so, it is so much more than that to me. I have had to unlearn many patterns with fashion merchandising and learn more about what kind of company I want to create and be a part of. This is why we never have standard boutique pricing. I would never want to sell something that I personally would never purchase. Everything in our store is curated with the customers needs in mind, including styles, finances, lifestyle, etc. I want Girl Almighty to be much more than just a clothing store, I want it to be a lifestyle brand.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Our story began when we met at The University of the Incarnate Word when Kenedy decided to join a sorority. We immediately kicked it off from the start, becoming twins and best friends. Kenedy has always been the girl with incredible creativity, with a BA in Communication Arts under her belt and my BA in Fashion Management and passion for the fashion world we found a great common ground. Girl Almighty was born the summer of 2018 after I graduated from college and found myself ready to start an entrepreneurial journey. I set off and started planning my first collection, Escape to Positano, which was inspired by my summer abroad in Italy. I sought out the expertise of Kenedy, who is a phenomenal graphic designer and web designer to assist in creating the GA logo and website. Being best friends, I always take Kenedys’ opinion to heart which led to making Kenedy Girl Almighty’s overall graphic designer and web designer full time. My sense of style and direction and Kenedy’s creativity and eye for detail create the perfect team and I truly believe that this bond is evident in the GA brand, our merchandise and our motto to be women who love and empower each other. Because we’re all ALMIGHTY.
