We recently connected with Kass Gomez and have shared our conversation below.
Kass, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about how you went about setting up your own practice and if you have any advice for professionals who might be considering starting their own?
Oh gee, where do I begin. In the early days of starting my business, I thought it was going to be a podcast. That is how I was starting it but that was short lived as I dove deeper into who I was, what I had gone through in my life and what I knew I needed but I didn’t see it out there in the world. I began to think about getting my certification as a personal trainer, after all, going to the gym is what helped me in my dark days of depression and feeling like I had no one who understood me.
Becoming a Certified Personal Trainer was great but it wasn’t fulfilling the desire and my passion to help people navigate their mental health. I can honestly say that one of my challenges when starting the Inspired Warrior Project was not knowing how to start something that I wanted to have an impact on the community. Also I have the tendency to just start something without really thinking about it first.
So, I took a step back and looked further into who I was and what my pain points were growing up. I discovered what it looked like to learn how to cope with my past traumas which had led to depression and anxiety.
My advice to anyone, not just a young professional, is to get clear on your mission and your why of wanting to build the business in the first place. Think of these questions: What is the purpose? Who am I building this business for? Why this business is so important to you? When you can answer these questions, it will help you navigate and build the foundation of your business with keeping these things in mind. It can and most likely will change a few times before you get it right and that is okay too. Don’t be too hard on yourself. This is a learning curve. No one really ever gets it right.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am the Founder of Inspired Warrior Project and Owner of The Beauty Boost Denver. I am a holistic trauma informed life & wellness coach, reiki practitioner, trauma informed breathwork & cacao facilitator, certified personal trainer and super connector. I love empowering all humans alike to be the empowered versions of themselves through their own core values. I am a Colorado Native that went into group homes and foster care at the age of 13 and was later emancipated at 17 years old, after allegations of molestation in the home. In that same year I was sexually assaulted twice by a friends brother and his friend before being removed from the home.
In my later years I found myself in an abusive relationship that landed me in the hospital with a punctured lung and fractured rib and months later a broken cheek bone that is still broke until this day.
I love sharing my story with others to help empower them to know that not all is lost. Through hard work, dedication, community and a support system, you can live a fulfilling and healthy lifestyle. I am very passionate about using my voice to help others and teach others how to find their voice along the way. Learning to set clear boundaries is the foundation of self-love that bleeds into other parts of our lives.
I took control of my life and put myself in trauma therapy, went on a couple of retreats then later became a certified personal trainer. I honestly thought that, that was what Inspired Warrior Project was going to be. Personal Training Coaching. After all, being in the gym daily was my safe haven for my sanity, my depression, ADHD, CPTSD and anxiety. Over time I learned that my spirituality should be a part of my business since that was becoming a big part of me. It was my foundation outside of my core values. Thus, becoming trauma informed and breathwork facilitator here in Denver, Colorado. Now I am able to offer more holistic non-traditional and traditional wellness and life coaching services.
I have helped my clients through one-on-one coaching, community events and retreats. And I am so happy to find my clients thriving in their lives by learning to stand up for themselves, communicate with friends, family and /or a significant other and becoming self aware within themselves.

I can honestly say that I am most proud of myself. Finding the courage and power within myself. Especially, when I felt like I was let down by so many people in my life. I became the person that many others need so badly to live a happy, fulfilling and loving life. I want you to know that you don’t have to do the healing alone, or suffer in silence. There are many of us that need community, needs support. Both men, women and all humans. We are truly stronger together and you never know how you may have helped someone along your journey or you will help someone along the way.
At The Inspired Warrior Project, we strive to be an ear when you need someone to listen, a voice when you can’t use yours or don’t know how, a guide to help empower and inspire you to find your power within you and take your voice and power back!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Well my journey isn’t over yet. I feel like I am just getting started. Just the other day my friends and I were speaking about this. I feel like we have the hardest time seeing our own relicense, so thank goodness I have the friends and community that I do to help me along the way and remind of how my journey started and where I am now.
After being reminded, I believe my resilience comes from all of the trauma and hardships I have gone through. You would think that my story would come from a movie or book. After being molested and sexually assaulted and having your mom choose to stay with the man who did it, you learn not to trust people. I worked really hard within myself to forgive her and learned to trust myself. And in doing so, I was able to grow, build a business where I can take my pain and faults and guide others to be just as resilient.
Despite my pain, I believe that everyone can change if they want to do the work and why not give people the chance to learn and grow. Especially if they are going to be honest with themselves to do the work.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A major lesson that I had to unlearn is being reactive. I would just react without thinking of the effects or consequences it had for myself and others.
There was an incident a year and a half ago that almost ruined my entire life because I reacted to a situation. After that moment, I took a long hard look at who I was and who I wanted to be as a person. I learned that when my core values aren’t upheld and my boundaries get crossed, I react to situations. I had to unlearn that cycle, and I am still working through it at times.
Now knowing what the root cause of the reactions are, I am able to take a breather, a moment and express verbally if I need a moment to calm down or communicate my thoughts/emotions and desires. I have a clear foundation of what I need to take care of myself and with knowing this now, I can express my needs. I have also learned when I need some self care, time to just be and sit in the quite. I learned to breathe,
