We recently connected with Kasper Park and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kasper , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents did right be instilling a work ethic in me from a young age. Also being into youth sports from a young age I understood the importance of a team. Even as a solo act, it is smart to look towards building a team. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, so it’s vital to embrace that notion and lean into each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into music in high school. A peer who was in my grade was making EDM mixes on Ableton and wanted to experiment with producing hip-hop. He asked me if I wanted to come by after school one day and mess around since he heard my poems in poetry class. 1 Month later we made the warm-up song for our high school basketball team. Ever since, I loved the power of motivation music held. It could place fire inside hearts when delivered to right people at the right time.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I feel like society can not be so hard on artists and their art. I feel like in this age, artists are less free because of fear of being publicly shamed or professionally blackballed. I’m all for progress within how we treat each other as people, but I feel like there needs to be less pressure on artists. There has to be more freedom for artistic freedom.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is creating pieces that immortalized moments in my life. There is a saying that goes, “Take more pictures, that moment will always pass.”
I look at songs like that to the second degree. With each song I make, I cement who I am in that moment. I go back and listen to old projects and hear the progress I made as an artist and as a person. All the emotions and thoughts I was experiencing when I made the song, come to the front clear as day. It’s amazing.
