We recently connected with Kasim Aslam and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kasim thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s easy to look at a business or industry as an outsider and assume it’s super profitable – but we’ve seen over and over again in our conversation with folks that most industries have factors that make profitability a challenge. What’s biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?
I run the best and most respected Google Ads agency in the world, and I’ve been in business for well over 15 years. As you can imagine, I’ve had thousands of clients! During that time, I have seen businesses succeed and I have seen businesses fail. What’s sad (and frustrating) is how often the fail points are avoidable. In fact, the biggest fail point I see in the realm of paid traffic is also the easiest to fix.
You’ve heard people refer to this using a myriad of different terms and buzzwords. Call to action, unique selling proposition, offer design, etc. etc. etc.
I just call it “the why?”
Why do customers want it?
Why should they act now?
You have to explain “they why” and you have to do so clearly. You also need to be very (VERY) clear about what immediate step they need to take in order to begin the process.
This isn’t difficult. In fact, it’s so stupid-simple that most businesses skip it. They think customers will understand.
They’re wrong.
I can’t tell you how many people I have seen drive traffic to their website without first making sure this issue is addressed. And, no matter how hard we try, it’s still difficult to help some businesses see the necessity in this exercise.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have the best and most respected Google Ads agency in the world! We run paid traffic for hundreds of companies in just as many industries.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had what people refer to as a “full funnel agency”. This refers to marketing agencies that do it all. While the agency was successful, the process was miserable and lacked the ability to scale. When I finally niched down into a single service (Google Ads) the agency began growing at a break-neck pace!

How’d you meet your business partner?
He was my worst client :-P He had very high expectations, always inspected what he expected, and was hyper-focused in all of his communication. When he finally left the business he was working with, I knew I needed him on my team.
