Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kasia Randall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kasia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
Over the last few years, I’ve learned to set aside time from my business to prioritize my marriage and allow myself to get away and recharge. Running my business on the daily is what I love to do and I feel fortunate to have a career that I enjoy. I wake up each morning eager to create and press forward in growing my jewelry business, but I have found that when I set aside a few days to relax, I come back with a fresh perspective. It has been my goal to make sure that I am running my business and that my business isn’t running my life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello, My name is Kasia Randall and I am the owner and designers of Kasia Randall Jewelry. Kasia Randall Jewelry , “KRJ”, is an affordable high quality and coastal inspired jewelry brand specializing in 14k Gold Filled and Sterling Silver jewelry. A large portion of my jewelry is water safe and meant to be “lived in.” My goal in creating my jewelry brand is to provide high quality jewelry that lasts for an affordable price. With living by the California Coastline my whole life I’ve found my brands inspiration. I used genuine pearls, semi precious stones and natural shells in most of my jewelry designs. I started making jewelry in 2019 on the weekends in the kitchen of my one bedroom apartment in Dana Point. It started as a fun hobby and in a span of a year, it quickly transformed into a business. Within one year I decided to leave my stable full-time job to pursue the unexpected adventure of creating my own business. Since then, I have gained multiple retail accounts ranging from hotel boutiques to local trendy surf shops. to What I am most proud of is all the positive feedback that I have received from loyal returning customers. What I am most grateful for are the precious connections I have made with clients who have entrusted me to make sentimental pieces for them to cherish.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started my business instagram back in 2019 when I first began selling jewelry. I started taking product shots on my phone to post on social media, but quickly realized based on the feedback from my customers that they wanted to see how the product looked on a model. Luckily I had a friend who is an amazing photographer based in Southern California, Abigail Argersinger, who began helping me elevate my social media presence with lifestyle photos highlighting the best aspects of my jewelry. Since that shift in content, I have grow my customer base and presence on social media.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Growing up in San Diego with a pro surfer dad, I spent a lot of my time at the beach and always had a heart for the ocean and the surf industry. My first job was at the local surf shop in Oceanside, where I spent a decade of my life working and ended up becoming the General Manager. During my time as a manager I discovered I had a passion for creativity and enjoyed learning how to manage a business. One day after work I decided to stop at the local craft store and pick up some materials to make earrings just for fun. That weekend I wore my first pair of staple “Turquoise Jasper Hoop earrings” to church and had three people ask me if they could buy a pair from me. I made the decision then and there to integrate my two passions, the beach and product creation, to start what is now today known as Kasia Randall Jewelry. Through word of mouth, I began receiving consistent orders that eventually pushed me to launch my own website and start working with retailers. My first retail account reached out to me through instagram to start carrying my earrings in her boutique. From there, each new account I acquired was through word of mouth or walking into retailers myself to speak with the buyers. I decided in June of 2020 to leave my GM position to take a leap of faith towards my own endeavors, With a lot of prayer and the support from my husband, family and friends, I took the leap and have never looked back!
