We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kasia Guzik. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kasia below.
Alright, Kasia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
My journey has began with a burst of inspiration and a drive to contribute to magazines. It all started in September 2020 when I found myself going through fashion magazines and being captivated by the features within them. While I admired the creativity, there were moments when I felt that I could offer something even better or more.
Driven by my passion for styling, photography and my background in graphic design, I decided to take action and bring my ideas to life. In just three months, I transformed my initial concept into a freelance business. I was very driven and determined.
With a clear goal in mind, I began reaching out to local editors, presenting my vision and expressing my desire to contribute to their magazines. Leveraging my skills in graphic design, I was able to produce layouts, mood boards, and other visual elements that showcased my unique perspective.
Within a year, I have experienced rapid progress and growth in my career. Fueled by my tendency to become easily bored, I sought out new opportunities and collaborations with local creatives, that would challenge and inspire me.
I began working closely with photographers on various photoshoots, lending my expertise in styling to enhance the visual narratives. These collaborations allowed me to contribute to a local magazine and build a strong portfolio showcasing my styling skills.
Eager to expand my knowledge and gain diverse experiences, I also started participated in fashion shows and events.
By combining my styling expertise with my newfound passion for photography, I envision creating a unique and comprehensive service that offers a holistic approach to capturing and presenting personal style.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a creative professional with a degree in Marketing & Management and a background in marketing and retail. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong passion for the creative side of my job, particularly in the field of fashion. I am the proud founder of The Mania, where I combine my creative skills.
One of the highlights of my career has been my involvement in various projects, such as contributing to magazines, styling photoshoots, personal styling and engaging in fashion photography. These experiences have allowed me to explore and enhance my skills, what makes my work more dimensional and well-rounded.
My ultimate goal is to provide a unique and comprehensive service where I can shoot and style people simultaneously, catering to different purposes. This is something that is not commonly offered in Jersey, and I believe it sets me apart from others in the industry. I am dedicated to delivering exceptional results and ensuring that my clients’ visions are brought to life in a creative and impactful way.
With my expertise and passion for styling & photography, combined with my customer service knowledge I strive to create memorable experiences for my clients. I am continuously seeking new opportunities to grow, learn, and collaborate with others in the industry, as I believe that creativity thrives in a collaborative environment.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
While digital marketing and AI have become prevalent in modern times, the power of personal recommendations should never be underestimated, especially in a small community like Jersey.
Word-of-mouth referrals have been incredibly valuable to me for several reasons.
First, they often come from trusted sources, such as friends, family, or colleagues, which builds a level of trust and credibility for your services. When someone recommends you, it means they have had a positive experience and are happy with your services.
Second, word-of-mouth referrals can generate high-quality leads. People who are referred to you are more likely to have a genuine interest in your services, as they have heard positive feedback from someone they trust. This can result in a higher volume of clients, solid reputation and long-term client relationships.
It’s essential to recognize the power of word-of-mouth. By delivering exceptional service and fostering strong relationships, you can continue to build the trust and authenticity that comes with personal recommendations to attract new clients to your business.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I would say networking and socializing.
Initially, networking was a source of stress for me….well, to be fair it still kind of is. Putting myself in unfamiliar situations and interact with strangers, made me feel highly uncomfortable, so I was simply avoiding it for a quite some time. However, I realized that relying solely on my existing network would limit my growth potential, so I had to change a strategy. To expand my reach and create new opportunities, I needed to make a conscious effort to overcome my discomfort and embrace networking. I just had to step out of my comfort zone.
Meeting new people and getting to know them personally has been a transformative experience. By showing up as myself and allowing others to hear my story, I’ve been able to establish deeper connections and build relationships that extend beyond mere business transactions. I believe that at the end of the day, people connect with and buy from individuals, not just the products or services they offer.
