We recently connected with Kasia Fraser and have shared our conversation below.
Kasia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I was born in Poland in 1975 and have always been tall, standing at 6’2 now. As a child, I was self-conscious about my height and had no idea that it would significantly impact my future. When I was 14, I was discovered for my skills in basketball, which led me to move to a larger city and set off a chain of events that changed the course of my career. This was the defining moment that altered the path of my professional life. Moving to a new city gave me the freedom to explore and discover new opportunities. A few years later, I was introduced to yoga and meditation, which had a profound impact on me. I began practicing 20 years ago and eventually became an Art of Living instructor in 2005. I have always strived to live a life filled with joy, gratitude, and freedom. These emotions have shaped my teaching and practice, focusing on helping my students better connect with themselves and their environment. I came to realize that my height opened doors for me, allowing me to explore new places, find new opportunities, and discover my true passion: teaching people how to lead happier and healthier lives.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I became a yoga and meditaion for the Art of Living Foundation in 2005. I moved from Poland initially to New York City, then Washinton, DC, Los Angeles, Boone, NC, and currently, I am back in LA. I started as a plant-based chef to support many Art of Living weekend meditation retreats, then became a certified yoga instructor and, eventually, a Sudhashan Kriya facilitator. Sudarshan Kriya is a powerful breathing technique that can help reduce stress and find more enjoyment in life. I have been teaching in many walks of life, supporting everyone’s well-being through delicious, healthy meals and impactful yoga movements that lead to deep meditation and blissful day-to-day moments.
As a person, I embody consistency, mindfulness, and a never-ending zest for life. I find solace in swimming in the ocean, feeling the sand beneath my feet, and indulging in healthy vegan meals. My passion lies in inspiring others to live their lives with the same passion and enthusiasm that I do.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Consistency is the key!
Often in life, we focus on what’s working and is pleasant and easy, without realizing that there are always two sides to the coin. In the Art of Living, we teach this beautiful knowledge point: “Opposite values are complementary”, they both coexist in harmony: light and darkness, harmony and chaos, health and sickness…one gives value to the other. If you ask a 4-year-old child “What would you rather have: peace of mind, or a piece of chocolate?” what would the child say? (…) And what would be your answer? We value peace of mind because we experienced disturbance. And often we want both! Peace of mind AND a chocolate.
So yes, take both, pleasant and unpleasant, see them as part of life. Be consistent, unfazed by little turbulence here or there. Keep moving forward. And at the end of the day, remember, those are just temporary feelings, thoughts, and emotions…they will pass you by. This reassurance should give you a sense of relief and calm. Keep your eye on the goal and enjoy the journey while you’re in it.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Ever wondered what it’s like to let go of control? Here’s my story.
We want control over other thoughts, career choices, children, and sometimes even the weather.
At 18, I had my life all figured out. I was certain I’d become a basketball coach, marry my college sweetheart, have two kids, and see a bit of the world. But life had other plans.
My life took me in a very different direction. I started in a small town in Poland and ended up in major cities in the US, having to be a MOM to so many “kids,” as I sometimes call my students. My discoveries were beyond anything I could ever imagine: going to many countries, learning about so many cultures, foods, and celebrations. In all these differences, I found something that connects us all: our love, compassion, and breath. These unexpected and fulfilling experiences were a result of embracing change.
Once I let go of controlling the outcome of my actions, I still remained dynamic and proactive in my choices and found new fascinating discoveries that I didn’t know were possible. Today, I am part of the largest non-profit volunteer organization present in 180 countries, spreading the message of joy and compassion through yoga, breathing, and meditation. My journey is a testament to the power of letting go and embracing change, and I hope it inspires others to do the same.
