We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kashyap Bhadani . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kashyap below.
Kashyap, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
When I first considered pursuing a career as a writer/director, my first thought was to enroll in film school. Eventually, I moved to Los Angeles to attend the New York Film Academy, where I learned everything there is to know about making movies, including how to take a tiny idea for a plot or even a situation and turn it into a story with massive characters, emotions, etc. shooting the screenplay, editing it to bring it to life, and finally presenting it to the public. Learning the entire trade is incredibly daunting and frustrating, but it’s worth it when you see the finished product. Because this is the technique you will use every time you wish to tell a narrative, it is crucial to go through it. And the process, as they say, is a big part of the journey.
Therefore, regardless of the outcome, you will never be able to master or learn the skill as a whole if you don’t appreciate every single step of it. Therefore, it’s crucial to consider the bigger picture because, in my opinion, you can never create “The Perfect Film” as a filmmaker. Trial and error determine if a movie is excellent or horrible, but the desire to tell more stories is constant.
Now that I’ve taken a step back, I believe I could have grasped the fundamentals of filmmaking more quickly and effectively because so much of it simply involves self-reflection, observation, and being aware of what is happening around you with you and with people because that is where so much of filmmaking takes place in addition to all the technical aspects of it. because the best ideas and stories come from this observation.
Conscious practice will speed up your learning of the craft and skill.
because as a filmmaker, these are the most crucial abilities. These are the characteristics that most frequently come into play when writing a screenplay. As some directors are already aware of the type of narrative they intend to produce some understand it over a period of time.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Greetings, I’m Kashyap Bhadani. I’m a freelance writer, director, and assistant director. My interest in pursuing a career in filmmaking began in high school when my dad and uncle took me to the movies. At that point, a spark of inspiration began to grow inside of me, and I knew I wanted to be a part of something similar. Later in high school, I attended workshops on the subject, which helped me become more proficient.
I write my screenplays as a freelance writer, director, and assistant director, and I also direct Music Videos, Films, Commercials, etc. I also work as an assistant director, helping my clients with the technical and creative aspects of producing films, music videos, and commercials. In this role, I collaborate closely with the director to schedule shoots, help them create call sheets, and make decisions as the director’s right-hand man to help the production be completed as efficiently as possible. I believe that after working in this sector for three years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some excellent talent quickly. I recently finished a feature film with the actress and rapper Danie Leigh. where I was a pivotal part of the Production Team,
I also had the opportunity as an assistant director to collaborate with some artists in their music videos for some well known singer such as Diljit Dosanjh and a feature film by the YouTube influencer Dharmann.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
As a Writer/Director, I believe my entire and sole specific goal or mission in my creative journey is to create and put out stories that are influential and can make a difference in society, to bring a change, or even make aware that some problems exist in a society and we as a human should be aware of what’s happening in the society and shouldn’t be afraid to speak our minds or even take action to eradicate those problems, that’s what I would say my mission is, Beyond producing quality work of art and visual storytelling through my skill and producing quality films for entertainment.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
As an artist, I feel that I would mention the same thing that every artist says when this question arises, which is when your work is being recognized and put forward to the people. For any creative, this is the most rewarding thing when audience members relate to the story or character, but I would say that when your work is recognized at a broader spectrum and randomly when you walk down the lane and overhear random conversations or even when people talk about how they enjoyed your work, that is the most fulfilling thing. because at that point all the effort an artist has put in feels worthwhile.
