Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kashina Alexander-mclean. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kashina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I see myself as a courageous survivor of childhood sexual abuse which began at 8 years old and continued until I was 16 years old. The resultant implications of the trauma I experienced led to a life of profound adversity including homelessness, teenage pregnancy, drug/alcohol addiction, and multiple suicide attempts. It took me over 3 decades to get my life together and heal as I had no support from family and didn’t share my formative experiences with my friends. My goal after my healing process was to become for others what I needed so badly for myself.
I founded Restored Life Academy as a means to empower women to overcome adversity. For me, this is more than just an organization; I consider it a movement that champions resilience and celebrates the triumph of the human spirit by utilizing a holistic approach to address the emotional, spiritual, and practical aspects of personal development so that women can reclaim their voices, embrace their unique identities, and step confidently into their futures.
My lived experiences inform every aspect of the Academy’s mission and programs as I understand firsthand the struggles and challenges women face when trying to rebuild their lives after trauma, Therefore, my team and I ensure we provide a safe and supportive environment where women can heal and thrive.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Apart from my work as a Mid-level nurse manager, I am a 2-time published author, life coach and visionary of Restored Life Academy as well as Co-founder and Senior Pastor of KB Worship Centre International Ministries. My career seamlessly integrates nurse leadership, forensic science, pastoral ministry, and life coaching, allowing me to offer comprehensive support and guidance to the women I serve.
With over 15 years of experience in healthcare, more than 12 years in ministry and nearly a decade as a life coach, my journey embodies dedication, resilience, and a deep commitment to growth. Subsequent to my adverse experiences, I obtained both a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s in Forensics with high honors, as well as current membership in multiple international honorable societies and associations.
I started my company in 2016 out of a desire to mentor young women in my community and my local church. Over the years, it has evolved into a global organization which has served women in more than seven countries including nations in Africa, the Caribbean and Canada. Women come to me when they are ready to rediscover their worth and break out of the prison of silence so they can create unlimited success and build a legacy.
I offer coaching services and hosts workshops, conferences and retreats for women who desire to operate at a higher level of purpose. I am also available to speak for groups and organization looking to guide and challenge members in taking action to enhance their own growth. I currently host 4 free workshops per year in my city of Wilkes-Barre PA and one paid conference every April. The next staging of the “I AM RESTORED” Conference will be April 5th, 2025. Information can be found on my website for any of these events.
People believe in what I do because there is evidence of change after working with me. My experiences and qualifications equip me with a robust foundation in multiple disciplines which sets me apart in my field. I also think my deeply personal approach to empowerment is one key aspect which is unique to Restored Life Academy.
I am most proud of the fact that I was not only able to transform my own life and be my first testimonial but also radically shift the trajectory of the lives of my children. Of my three children, two are grown and both degreed, leading very fulfilling lives. My daughter who is only 22 years old obtained her master’s degree with honors in the field of biomedical diagnostics. This is what I encourage others to do, create that legacy for the next generation by rewriting their story.
