Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kasheena Morgan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kasheena, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
My legacy is inspired by my late Auntie Sandra, who taught me to take education seriously, use my gifts to lift others, and believe that where you start never determines how far you can go. I hope to leave a legacy of resiliency, determination, and faith—resiliency to face obstacles without giving up, determination to keep learning and striving, and faith in God’s promise that He will never give me more than I can bear. A part of my legacy will always be honoring hers by helping others discover their purpose and achieve their dreams.

Kasheena, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into the baking industry almost by accident. I began by baking for friends, family, and staff for birthdays and special occasions, and people kept encouraging me to sell my desserts. The very first cupcakes I made were inspired by the movie Up and from there I realized I could create cupcakes with flavors that captured just about anything. Over time, I developed a wide variety, including favorites like key lime cupcakes and soul food cupcakes.
What sets me apart is my ability to provide high-quality, flavorful desserts at prices that remain affordable for everyone. I’m most proud that I’ve been able to keep my desserts accessible while still running a sustainable business. I also take pride in being able to cater to different dietary needs without sacrificing taste, which has allowed me to serve a broad and diverse customer base.
I started my journey at home with my family as my taste testers, and along the way I’ve had opportunities to provide desserts for restaurants and special events. Right now, I’m taking a step back to focus on refining my business plan and preparing for bigger opportunities in 2026, God willing. My goal is not only to continue creating unique desserts but also to grow into something greater that serves my community and brings joy through every bite.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the most significant pivots I’ve had to make came when my husband experienced an unexpected, life-threatening medical issue that required 24-hour care. Almost overnight, my priorities shifted. I had to step back from my full-time work and business to focus on his recovery and to ensure that our two children had the stability and support they needed during such a difficult time.
This was not only a practical pivot but an emotional one. Balancing the stress of decision-making, managing care, and maintaining hope in the midst of uncertainty was overwhelming at times. Yet, through that season, I learned the true meaning of resilience, the importance of leaning on faith, and the strength that comes from caring for others even when you’re stretched thin yourself.
That experience reshaped how I approach both life and business. It reminded me that success is not just about growth and accomplishments, but also about the ability to adapt, to prioritize what matters most, and to find purpose even in the hardest seasons.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
A story from my journey that truly illustrates my resilience came after a very long and difficult medical battle that my husband endured. By God’s grace, he made a strong recovery, but the experience changed us both. After 20 years together, we realized that while we had been through so much side by side, we had also grown into two very different people. We made the difficult decision to divorce, choosing instead to focus on our own personal journeys while remaining committed partners in co-parenting our two sons.
For me, it felt like starting over. He had been by my side since I was 15, and suddenly I had to learn independence in every aspect of life—managing bills, housing, decision-making, and raising two boys on my own. It was one of the loneliest seasons of my life.
What carried me through was my faith in God, the love and support of close family and friends, and the grounding comfort I found in baking. During this time, I also lost my Aunt Sandra, who had been one of my greatest encouragers. Her memory and words reminded me to press forward. Though the journey was painful, it made me stronger, more self-reliant, and more determined to keep growing for myself and for my children. I’m still recovering and
Growing.
