We recently connected with Kash Dior and have shared our conversation below.
Kash, appreciate you joining us today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
A lot of people get upset and discouraged when they start a Business and don’t see much support from their family or friends. I completely understand it, I’ve experienced it a little bit myself when I first started 10 years ago. You would think the first people who would support you would be those closest to you but it’s not always that way. Also when I say support, I don’t necessarily mean by purchasing anything.
A like, share and word of mouth goes a long way. However, I wouldn’t let it discourage you.
As a business owner, you should not be asking your friends or family to patronize your business. It actually doesn’t help you In the long run. It just fluctuates your numbers and it prolongs you seeing results of how well your REAL reach is.
9 times out of 10, Your Friends & Family are not your target audience and Most importantly, NO one OWES you support. Support is EARNED and it’s given to those who connect with their customers. Focus on how your connecting & How your building your brand. You don’t automatically get success because you work hard to open a business. You get success because you stay consistent in making a connection with the right customers.
Your advertisements bring in customers, your photos, your specials, your videos, YOUR HARDWORK. Believe it or not, Opening the business is the easy part. It’s the footwork of building the connections, Advertising, & Providing a consistent excellent experience, that’s the real work. The people that choose to support you will and the ones who sat back on the sideline and watching because they didn’t believe in you or was scared to show their support will be the same ones with their hand out when your up.
Arrogant Tae a famous and popular celebrity hair stylist once posted “ People left while the house was falling apart not knowing he was tearing it down to build a mansion”.. & I felt that in my SOUL. People love to support you when it’s convenient for them, leave you in your struggle season, disappear when you need them most. Talk about you when you down bad, hurt you ,etc. – not even knowing God was doing a work within you .. KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY. God will expose who’s not supposed to be apart of your success story in the midst of your struggle pay attention!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
BUILDING A WINNING BRAND takes more time, a big effort, and insane consistency. It’s all about creating a strong identity, connecting with your audience, and delivering value consistently.
From crafting a captivating message to building a loyal community, every step counts on the path to brand success.
As a business owner, it is crucial that you embrace the journey, stay true to your values, and watch your brand flourish.
Staying true to myself, being authentic and having so many success stories help me scale and grow. In 2020 alone I helped people within my community get funded for their businesses. Over $250,000 in a small community.
Once I did that I knew I could share my talents globally.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When I started my first business I funded everything out of pocket. I didn’t go into business with a plan, I had side hustle that turned into my primary income once I quit my job. I went threw a lot of ups and downs and I took a lot of losses but once I learned the game it was up from there.
What most people don’t know is “YOU ARE YOUR OWN BANK.” You just don’t have the right information to gain access to the money you’re were born with.
This is how I got access to over 150k on personal and business credit with no co-signer.
1) I fixed my personal credit
2) I built my business credit and my personal credit at the same time
3) I funded my self over 150k by knowing where the banks pull from and what underwriters look for
I’ve used my credit to invest into a short term rental business , turo, business systems, marketing and mentorships/ business coaching. You don’t have to come from a rich family or spend decades saving money to invest. You just need strategy and knowledge
The first step is to START.
