We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kasey Smith a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kasey, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

So, funny story. When we decided we wanted to start our own Aesthetic Business, we were clueless on how to get started, as none of us have any sort of business background. Of course the first thing we thought to do was come up with a business name.

All three of us are Pediatric Trauma Nurses who work with a surgeon that owns a coffee shop downtown. We have had several business meetings at this coffee shop and it kind of became our go to place while we were getting started. As we were sitting there, sipping our drinks, we started throwing out anything and everything that came to mind. Probably one thousand random names were thrown out, one of which being Modern Trilogy Aesthetics. It was the name we kept going back to, despite coming up with some very off the wall names. And thus, Modern Trilogy Aesthetics because our name that we were going to stick to.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Modern Trilogy Aesthetics is owned and operated by three Registered Nurses backed by a Dentist in the local Indy area. All three of us have worked together at the Riley Emergency Department for several years. This is where we met and where we grew our friendship and love for the nursing world.

One day, we were all talking and we wanted to expand our knowledge and learn about a different side of the nursing world. We took a course to get certified in aesthetic facial injections. After taking the course, we basically had two options. The first option was to work for an existing MedSpa, or we could start our own business. The three of us wanted to be able to remain close and work closely together. So, with zero knowledge of how to start a business, we decided to jump in, head first, and run with it. All three of us can agree, it has been the best decision we have ever made.

At Modern Trilogy Aesthetics, we offer tox, filler, and we also do permanent jewelry! Something that we love about our company is that we get to make people feel their absolute best. Whether that is by getting their tox injections, getting filler, or even getting a permanent bracelet put on! The biggest compliment we ever receive, is that people leave feeling more beautiful than they ever have before. This has been our goal since we started, and we love that we are able to achieve that on a daily basis!

We strive to make sure that our clients leave happy each and every time. Knowing the aesthetic world can be intense and scary, we pride ourselves in making our clients feel comfortable with their treatment plan the whole time and always following up with clients to make sure their desired outcomes are achieved.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Social media has been something that brings us in quite a bit of clientele. The way we have built our presence on social media is with consistency. We have found that the more consistent we are online, the more clientele we have built and the more interactions we get with our followers. When we first started the business, our following was only family and friends. But with consistency, we have been able to gain followers from all over the Indy area and it has been so fun to be able to meet everyone who comes to see us! Posting different types of media including pictures, reels, stories, and more makes our page more interactive for our followers.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective way we have built our clientele is through word of mouth. We get a lot of referrals from our clients, which brings in new people on a weekly basis. Something that sets us apart from other aesthetic companies, is that we want to take your natural beauty and enhance it. Our goal is to have people leaving refreshed and never over-done. This has taken us leaps and bounds in the industry and is the main reason why people refer us to others.
