Hi Kasey, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I believe it is essential for kids of color to see mirrors in media so that they know they exist and for white children to see windows so that they know others exist.

Inspired by my own fond memories of bedtime stories, Beddy Bye Books was created to encourage a new generation of book lovers. Our books are colorfully illustrated, and designed to reflect the wonderful diversity of our readers. It is important to us that we create fun, engaging, inspiring stories filled with characters that look like the children that read them. Reading is a vehicle to lifelong learning and at Beddy Bye Books, we want our products to foster imagination, creativity, critical thinking, and exploration.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
My partner decided to set away from the business, and I continued to keep the legacy of what started going.
