We recently connected with Kasey Render and have shared our conversation below.
Kasey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents were very disciplined growing up. They instilled the right amount of focus in me from a young age. At the time I felt that my mom overprotected me and was too hard on me but it paid off in the long run. My dad was a silent detailed oriented creative behind the scenes. He would spend a lot of days watching the HGTV channel learning all of the DIY projects.
Both of my parents were borderline OCD/perfectionists which rubbed off on me in my adult/professional life.
My upbringing translated into me being a very disciplined independent creative. I learned how to do everything myself after seeing my dad fix and create things all the time. My mom’s patience and relentless effort for improvement led me to never settle for less than greatness.
All in all, my parents did a great job raising me. Their personal love life may not have been the best but the combination of both of them being active in my life led me to where I am today and I am forever grateful for them.

Kasey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a serial entrepreneur with a focus on making our communities more healthy and positive. The parent company to all of my creations/brands is Ahmad Ventures. Underneath this umbrella is Wimbley – Render Creations (independent publishing company), Family Dreams Fitness (health and wellness company), and the Kasey A. Render Foundation (non profit).
Wimbley-Render Creations is an independent publishing company that focuses on authentic stories. We want to open the doors to your mind. After reading any of our projects, we hope to leave you searching for more in this lifetime. Our stories are vulnerable and honest. The goal is to entertain you with valuable lifelong substance that can assist you in future endeavors.
My mission with Family Dreams Fitness is to help create a more healthy and positive world one person at a time. We expose the community to a more healthy and positive lifestyle. We do this by hosting health fairs, exercise classes, youth programs, community events plus more.
My vision with my non profit the Kasey A. Render Foundation is to improve the wellbeing of our communities one family at a time. My mission is to provide the necessary assistance to those in the community that need help progressing in life.
My goal is to identify the root causes of negative habits in the community and work to improve all weaknesses from its core.
Everything that I do has my legacy and history in mind. I want to be remembered for doing everything I can to help make this world a better place than when I came in it. My focus is to always improve any environment or situation that I am in.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I want to be a voice of reason for the voiceless. I am naturally quiet and laid back but that backfired when I was suicidal in 2016. Being reserved and too quiet can hurt you when you need help most. After overcoming my mental struggles I made a vow to myself to never stay quiet on mental health.
I lost my closest uncle to suicide 2 years after I attempted it. I will spend the rest of my life advocating for mental health and a healthy/positive lifestyle. If I can stop at least one person from taking their life then I have done my job.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is complete freedom. I love creating something out of the nothing. The bonus to being a creative is seeing others appreciate your creations. That might be the biggest reward because it is a way to unify all walks of life.
