Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kasey, Kristen Miller, Trahan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kasey, Kristen, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Our team has worked in the floral industry for years, but our very own flower studio was an idea that continued to grow until fruition at the peak of a global pandemic. We knew from the beginning that we wanted our flower business to be different. Different in a way that was refreshing, funky, and most importantly inclusive to all. Our tiny studio quickly outgrew the dining room and moved to the East End of Houston to a collective artist studio warehouse.
Our mission is the same as it was when we were designing flowers on our kitchen table; To remain creative in a time of industry uncertainty, to stretch the boundaries of the floral industry by saying yes when others may say no, and to remain a trustworthy and friendly floral provider to all.

Kasey, Kristen, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Both members of the Ponderosa Team, Kasey and Kristen, got their start in floral design at the floral counter of a local grocery store. We then proceeded to branch into the floral wholesale industry, which allowed us to learn so much more about flower varieties, availability of seasonal products, and the logistics behind the floral industry.
We combined our talents and knowledge to create Ponderosa Flower Studio, which proudly provides daily flower deliveries, designs custom weddings and events, and teaches flower design workshops to the Houston area.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
We have had so much fun and great success meeting new flower friends and potential future return customers at farmers markets and pop up events around town. Prior to opening our studio in the East End, we started at Bay Area Farmers Market for our very first introduction of our new business and our services.
We love it so much that we are still there every Sunday, providing fresh flowers, plants, and botanical gifts from 11am to 3pm.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
Ponderosa offers a variety of flower arrangements available for weekday delivery on our website: ponderosaflowerstudio.com.
We also provide wedding, event, and workshop questionnaires to customize for your private party!
