Kasey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I would want to be remembered for allowing people to truly soak-in the important moments in life. After I’m gone, I hope to be remembered for loving others well, building an intentional life, and showing a path of possibilities for those around me. I hope that the images I’ve taken over the years can serve as a reminder of how important relationships and connections are. How precious life is… And what a gift it is to experience it all. Imperfections and all!
Kasey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a photographer who specializes in weddings and lifestyle family sessions! I’ve been a photographer for over ten years. However, I’ve been in love with photography ever since I can remember. Photography isn’t just a job for me, it’s a lifestyle. Behind the camera, I’m seeing moments unfold and capturing that feeling to be looked back on for years to come! Each and every wedding and session is different, because the relationships and connections are different! It’s beautiful to witness people express their love for each other.
If I had to describe my style I’d call it, laidback and genuine. My goal is always to allow people to be themselves and soak in the moment – whether it’s lighthearted and fun, or deep and sentimental. I’m here to help bring that out of you. It’s a vulnerable feeling to be in front of the camera, and I always hope that I can take that pressure off.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Invest in yourself. 100% without a doubt – workshops, conferences, and coaching has changed my business and changed my life. Find a business or life coach who can help you break through those mental blocks!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
It doesn’t have to be hard. I think as entrepreneurs, we are told these stories of absolute burnout that allowed people to then turn their lifestyle around to building the life they have now! Which is great and an incredible story! However, you don’t have to let yourself get to burnout before you decide to build your business intentionally.
I’ve learned that valuing myself, my body, my personal time & time with my family is absolute priority. Setting the boundaries ahead of time in my schedule allow me to be more present while I’m working and when I’m not working. I can actually enjoy my life and my clients in a way that I wouldn’t be able to otherwise. Which is the dream, right?! To build your dream life AND dream business! – They go hand-in-hand!
