Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kasey Dutcher. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kasey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about making remote work effective.
When I work remotely, I have a love hate relationship with it. I prefer to be in the mix with my presence know with the staff, that way, we can converse in person, tackle to-do lists in person and I can keep an on their productivity because who is going to slack when the boss is in office?? On the flip side, working remotely removes me from that atmosphere and I have a much clearer picture on areas that need improvements within the business. I can monitor their responses to clients and follow up to ensure they are checking off items on their to-do list while working from afar. It also helps me focus on the “business owner” side of things where I can focus on completing vendor forms, permit applications, certification courses etc.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Kasey Dutcher and I am a wife, mom of 5 and a portable sanitation business owner. Platinum Pro Portables, Inc. started in 2016 with an idea to bring luxury restrooms to our clients wherever they desired. We quickly realized the demand for portable restrooms and grew our fleet to three restroom trailers in 2017 and in 2018, purchased our own service vehicle and a set of standard style units; everyone has to “go” so we wanted to ensure that we had what every client needed from us. To date, we have over 600 standard style units, over 20 trailer units and 10 service vehicles for our 16 employees. As of 2023, Platinum Pro Portables, Inc., is a certified Women Owned and Minority Owned Business Enterprise! I am extremely proud of that.
I am a behavior analyst by trade and my husband is a journeyman/lineman by trade so we merged both of our backgrounds and experiences together to build the vision and philosophy of how we run our company. I developed all of our company training manuals, SOPs and systems for our staff to use. At PPP, Inc., we pay attention to detail and that truly sets us apart from our competitors. Working with our company is an experience and I invite all potential clients to check us out!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn “the customer is always right” rule. Owning a company, I have standards set that I cannot bend or break so I had to rewrite this rule and create a “The customer isn’t always right, but should be satisfied” rule. This has helped guide our staff in so many unpleasant situations because they have a base of support (our company standards) that they rely on to resolve a client issue. 99% of the time, the clients have a conversation with our staff to agree on a remedy to their issue and I LOVE that I created this rule for our company and staff.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word. Of. Mouth. I cannot stress enough the importance of your clients being satisfied with your product and customer service and how you handle your customers all around. Their opinions spread like wildfire in the community which can be a benefit to you or a huge detriment.
