We recently connected with Karyna Omura Torres and have shared our conversation below.
Karyna, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Heart! Doing your job with genuine love and care, I believe is where you can see your value. That long term organic growth and success comes simply when clients feel a need to see you. Not just for the service you provide but, for the atmosphere you create in where they can be themselves.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started my journey as a makeup artist, after struggling with self-esteem issues during my entire childhood. I felt that through makeup I could help others feel better, stronger and more confident as it did for me. It was makeup that led me into eyebrows, lashes, then into skin care which complements and puts it all together.
There’s nothing wrong in wanting to look good for yourself. There have been several studies done which have concluded that when you feel you look good, your mindset and energy is positively different. The more we feel those moments, the stronger we are for ourselves during those tough times. Also, those building blocks of love help us set higher goals for ourselves to become a better mother, a better wife, a better friend, a better you for YOU.
We are all different, however, our imperfections is something that connects us all. I don’t try to achieve perfection as I truly feel that their is no such standard. What I do strive for in each one of my clients is appreciation of self. A chance to re-spark that attraction we have for ourselves, that we feel proud to have others see. It can be an enhancement of lashes that flutter just the right way to make your eyes shine like stars with every blink. Or, it can be the refining of your brows where a subtle tinting, sharpening, and positioning of a single hair draws appreciation from anyone that walks by having them look again.
KO Beautiqué was born from the idea of offering a unique beauty enhancement experience to everyone. You’re always going to feel welcomed and cared for here. You will feel that you’ve found a place to recharge, retreat, to connect and reconnect with yourself. We know we have hit our expectation when we see you fall in love with yourself all over again. That’s our mission, that’s what defines and differentiates our brand.
There’s tons of history behind our walls, tons of discipline, love and care, and no one can compete with that.
KO Beautiqué has just opened the door to it’s first flagship location where we offer a variety of services such as skin care, lashes enhancement, makeup application, permanent makeup to mention just a few.
What we are also proud of is that we’re always are looking towards learning new techniques in our services so that our clients are always getting the absolute best treatment possible.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
From as early as I can remember, my parents taught me to be honest and always seek something positive in life – especially during difficult moments. There is no day that goes by that I do not hear or feel those words go through my conscience. That is my boulder of strength within me. Now, I will admit that on several occasions that boulder’s durability was tested, but thankfully my honesty and integrity helps to keep it from being too vulnerable.
I take my future one step at time. It doesn’t matter how hard I have to work, how much time its going to take, what’s meant to be is meant to be. However, the more attention you apply to it along the way, the sweeter the feeling when looking back at the story you’ve created.
Contrary to what many people think, KO Beautiqué didn’t happen overnight.
It took me 14+ years and a library full of rejections to get me to where I am today. And as I speak these feelings out loud I realize that it’s from all those years of rejection, fear, humility, and insecurity that remind me to always be grateful for all that we have built.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Honesty.
I’m not afraid to lose money. Let me clarify, I am not afraid to decline a service to a client for the client’s best interest. I do not feel unsuccessful when I refrain from selling my skincare product to them if I see that theirs is working. That goes back to the GENUINE CARE I apply into my work. Clients see it and appreciate that more than you think. It’s with this trust they they become more than just loyal clients, they feel more like friends.
That’s how we’ve build our clientele, from people sharing their experiences to others.
