We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Karrë a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Karrë, thanks for joining us today. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
I think the first time I made some type of money was off my song called First and Last and it was from streaming. I was so surprised and grateful! It made me feel like if I keep going I can earn so much more! So I was going on checking my numbers and my steams and I was looking to see if I had made any money. I never check it so I was thinking “Man I ain’t make shit” but I was still checking and when I saw I made something from it it really surprise me because I didn’t expect me too. I went ahead and deposit it to my account.
Karrë, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
So as most of you know I am a artist. I sing I rap I can do anything honestly. I just got started but I have so much in store for the world. I make music but, I want to get into just about anything. What sets me apart is my style, me being me, just WHO I AM, I don’t think of it as just art or an expression or a money grab I’m not doing it for the same reasons as most people. I am CHOSEN I feel called! I have more than something to say I have a job to do. It wants me and I want it. This feeling this calling this PULL I feel from the universe sets me apart just that alone. It’s been so many time I try to walk away and it finds me and pulls at my soul. It feel like a divine calling and soul mission or purpose. I don’t think a lot of people have that deep feeling. And what I am most proud of…. I don’t have that yet I felt like it hasn’t come yet is that strange? I feel like what we’ll be proud worthy hasn’t came yet I’m a worker so I put my head down and get shit done to the best of my ability. And one thing I want ppl to know about me is I am patient and my time is coming and when it comes it’s going to be big and full of longevity. Get ready for it I came to win!
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Honestly I had read about mad I still don’t understand it fully lol. From my understanding it like digital cryptocurrency or reading. All I’m going to say is so your research before using things. Just because it’s new and it’s about a lot on the internet doesn’t mean you start using it see if it’s a good fit for you.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think people just need to be more open to new artists or creative instead of only paying attention to mainstream artists or viral creatives. Be open to new people and different style you might learn you like something different than what you use too. And I think society should so making resources and things available for certain artists and creatives to be seen and heard. It feel like everyone has a short attention span nowadays and resources are low. So it’s seems like you have to do extra stuff like dramatic shit just to get noticed or seen some ppl do crazy shit and not even being themselves basically killing their being to get where they wanna be. But I also think it comes do to maybe it’s not meant for you if you have to do all that I know I don’t do all that. I don’t might come down to ppl not seeing the right ppl that they might really like and ppl not accepting it’s not their calling and they need to do something else.
