We were lucky to catch up with Karoline Povil recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Karoline, thanks for joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
As time goes on, where the latest and greatest technology is in such high demand, I do see the crave people have in just a good hands on facial. No machines, no fancy lights. Just a good manual technique where you can still see results, but actually appreciate the power of a good facial massage.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Being born and raised in Brazil, the beauty industry has always been in my blood. Brazilian waxes, facials have always been all around me, specially having two older sisters. I have been in the beauty world now for 13 years. Honestly, being an Esthetician, it is deep in my DNA, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. My love for skincare comes from the fulfillment of seeing results and changing client’s confidence. On top of seeing their skin goals being achieved, I really enjoy being able to pamper them with my famous massages. I believe result driven facials can, and it should be mixed with relaxation. What I like to believe that makes me, and my brand different is that. In this busy world of ours, a moment to treat our skin, and a moment to reconnect, charge and relax is very valuable.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Consistency is key. We hear that all the time, but it is true. Every time my clients comes to either get a facial, they know that the service will always be the same, if not better! Especially when it comes to the facials, I hear that all the time… the facial is amazing… I couldn’t think it could get better. The more we work with a client, we can better customize each service to better get them an overall experience. Usually for my first-time clients, I tell them to importance of keeping a schedule so I can understand and treat their skin better. I am a long-term relationship kind of esthetician, not a one-night stand treatment. :)
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth has been, and I believe it will always be the best source of getting new clients. Nothing better than a happy client that raves about your services. Second best has been social media. I have to admit but, in the world we are in right now, social media is key for a small business.
