We were lucky to catch up with Karolina Domaszewicz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Karolina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I first felt it during the initial photo shoot I conducted for my portfolio. Several years in the industry shaped me and helped me choose a specific direction, which they became fashion styling, photography, and PR activities that later evolved into a talent management role. When I internally felt ready to make a career decision, the idea of starting a modeling agency came to mind, and I put it on all my experience into a company I was very proud of at that time. I still am, though my work now looks a bit different than it did a few years ago.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
In my professional career, I have worked as a Head Fashion Stylist in television. I organized and conducted photo shoots for fashion designers, jewelry brands, and fashion labels. Additionally, I provided consultations to individual clients. I worked on product collages for a London-based fashion portal, wrote articles, and composed outfits for a women’s magazine. As a PR Manager, I gained experience introducing a major jewelry brand to the Polish market, organizing meetings with publishers, celebrity managers, and wardrobe stylists. These experiences led to collaborations with other companies in the fashion industry.
I hold qualifications as a Visual Merchandiser and Window Display Stylist. I ran my own modeling agency, representing 10 models. Our greatest successes included fashion shows in Poland and Berlin, as well as photo shoots for clothing and jewelry designers. I supported and mentored the models at every stage of their careers.
I specialize in fashion, portrait, beauty, and product photography, with my work published in magazines worldwide. Currently, I am also fulfilling the role of a model manager.
I assist my clients in developing their businesses, managing the image of various individuals, including models and a tattoo artist. I strive to support anyone in need. I organize photo shoots and execute them myself. Creative work brings me great satisfaction, and the fashion industry offers artists opportunities that many dream of, enabling significant growth.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My primary goal is to support and promote diversity in the fashion industry by helping my clients grow their businesses and managing the image of those I collaborate with, including models and artists. I love working with inexperienced models; it’s a wonderful feeling to watch them absorb knowledge and transform. Their gratitude fuels my motivation, and their successes demonstrate that the skills and hard work I’ve invested in improving myself have been worthwhile. I strive to create creative projects that bring satisfaction and enable artists to pursue their passions.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The ability to create and engage in artistic work is something I can compare to psychotherapy, which I underwent for four years. Those four challenging years of self-discovery reinforced my conviction that the artistic path is the one I want to follow for the rest of my life. Giving of myself to others—because through my work, I share a part of myself—is immensely satisfying. It’s akin to a child wanting to be heard; in this case, there are many people interested in what I have to say.
