We were lucky to catch up with Karolina Aguilar recently and have shared our conversation below.
Karolina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I started my business earlier this year, in February—I remember it very clearly because it was right after Valentine’s Day. At that time, I was in a period of confusion but also felt a deep conviction to create something new and take a leap forward. I had been working a full-time, 8-hour-a-day job for almost two years by then, and while I was stable in my routine, I was ready for a change.
Looking back, I wouldn’t say I wish I had started sooner, even though it might sound like a great idea. I believe that things happen when they’re meant to, and God’s timing is always perfect. If I had started earlier, perhaps I wouldn’t have had the clarity or the readiness to fully embrace the journey. Starting later, on the other hand, would have meant missing out on so many experiences and lessons I’ve gained this year. Those challenges and triumphs have shaped me and given me invaluable insights.
So, in hindsight, I truly believe I started at the perfect time. Every step, every decision, and every risk came together exactly as it needed to. The timing allowed me to grow personally and professionally in ways that might not have been possible had I started earlier or waited longer.
To anyone considering starting their own venture, my advice would be this: trust the timing of your life. Even if it feels uncertain, take that first step when you feel the calling—it might just be the beginning of something extraordinary.
IMPORTANT! : And something I always say: learning about social media marketing is amazing. You’ll always find me sitting somewhere calm, with a camera and my laptop or iPad, because that’s when inspiration strikes, and ideas for the business start to flow. It’s in those quiet, creative moments that the best plans come together. That’s why I proudly take on the role of marketing for Boxcook! From brainstorming strategies to creating content, I’m constantly working to connect with people and share our vision. Marketing isn’t just a task for me; it’s a passion that keeps my business growing and evolving.

Karolina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At Boxcook Inc., our journey began humbly, inspired by a simple yet powerful idea: to create memorable experiences through picnics. My story starts with just ** fear but at the same time, he already had everything on the way from Asia, meaning he had already made the decision to start this business. **, a desire to explore something I truly loved, and a commitment to learning. I immersed myself in online courses and YouTube videos from others in the industry, investing weeks of focused discipline to research the right products and strategies to build my vision.
What I quickly realized was that this business is about much more than buying inventory or decorations. It’s about creating moments that resonate on a deeply personal level. One memorable moment for me was when someone close to me helped craft items from scratch because I wanted designs that were not only unique but also of higher quality than what I could find on platforms like Amazon. This taught me the value of detail, customization, and putting my heart into every project.
Our Services
Initially, I started offering **intimate picnic setups** for couples and small groups of up to four people, using my favorite neutral and vintage-inspired decor. However, as I worked with clients, I quickly adapted to their preferences, gradually building a versatile inventory to meet their unique needs. Four months later, we expanded to include **marriage proposal setups**. This has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work—hearing a heartfelt “yes” and witnessing love stories unfold in magical settings.
What Problems We Solve
We specialize in **turning visions into reality**. Whether it’s helping someone propose in the most romantic way imaginable or creating a peaceful, picture-perfect picnic, we handle every detail so our clients can simply enjoy the moment. For example, if a client’s partner loves the scent of roses or has a specific aesthetic in mind, we curate every element to reflect that. We take pride in helping our clients express their love and appreciation in ways they couldn’t have imagined on their own.
What Sets Us Apart
Our work goes beyond aesthetics—we’re all about **connection and intention**. Each setup is crafted with love, care, and a relentless commitment to quality. We listen closely to our clients’ desires and put our creativity to work to ensure every detail is perfect. From custom-made items to handpicked themes, every element reflects a deep level of care that’s rare in today’s fast-paced world.
What We’re Proud Of
What makes me proud is that we’re not just providing a service; we’re creating memories that people carry with them forever. The smiles, the tears of joy, and the overwhelming gratitude from clients remind us why we do this. We’ve grown not just in scale but in the depth of relationships we build with our clients, turning their special moments into something extraordinary.
For Those New to Boxcook
If you’re just getting to know Boxcook, we want you to know this: **every setup is a labor of love**. We pour our hearts into making your dream moments a reality. Whether you’re planning a romantic date, a proposal, or an intimate gathering, you can trust us to deliver more than just beautiful decor—we deliver experiences you’ll cherish forever.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
For almost two years, I worked an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday at a steady job. During that time, I committed to saving 30% of my weekly paycheck, putting it directly into my savings account. At first, I was saving with a completely different purpose in mind, but as the months went by, I started thinking bigger. About a year and a half into saving, I began researching business ideas.
When I first got that job, I had a small spark of an idea to start a picnic or floral business, but it seemed like just a dream back then—something far out of reach. However, as I looked at what I’d saved and realized I had built a solid foundation, I knew the time was right to make that dream a reality. With determination, I channeled my vision, and in 2024, I took the leap and launched my business.
The lesson? Don’t underestimate the power of consistency and patience. Small steps, like saving a portion of your paycheck or nurturing an idea, can lead to big opportunities. Sometimes, the seeds of your dreams are already in place—you just need to trust the process, take action when the time is right, and believe in yourself to make it happen!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I had to unlearn is the idea that everything has to be perfect before starting. For the longest time, I believed that to launch a business or take on a new venture, I needed to have every detail figured out—the perfect inventory, flawless branding, and all the answers to potential problems. This mindset held me back more than I realized.
The turning point came when I was ready to start my picnic setup business. I kept telling myself, “I need more time to plan,” or “I’ll start when I’m 100% ready.” But the truth is, you’re never fully ready. The real growth comes from taking that leap and learning as you go. I remember feeling nervous about offering my first setup, questioning if clients would love my work or if I could truly deliver. But I went for it anyway, and through that experience, I realized something powerful: action is what creates momentum, not perfection.
Looking back, I now see that those initial steps—filled with imperfections and uncertainties—are what taught me the most. I learned how to adapt, grow, and improve along the way. The lesson? Don’t wait for perfect conditions to start. Sometimes, the courage to begin is all you need, and the rest will fall into place as you take the journey.
