Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Karol Carballo-Robles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Karol, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
My hope for a legacy I leave in this world is sharing the knowledge I obtain and continue to learn from other mentors, professionals, and local residents– with as many people as possible. I want events to be hosted where people meet other people, build relationships, partnerships, and come together to create something bigger and better. Additionally, in the future, I would love to create a scholarship for college students or those who would like to sign-up for trade school, and/or a certification to further their career. I want positive changes to get done even after I leave this world and that’s how I’d know I truly left a legacy.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I became a Realtor and began to service the Houston metropolitan area. I assisted clients with rentals, purchasing, and selling. I genuinely enjoy hosting workshops and goes back to wanting to share information with others. To be a Realtor, in my opinion, integrity is the most important asset when you hire someone to represent and protect you. It is about putting your client’s interest before yours and truly looking out for what they deserve. I remember sitting down, during a consultation with a client, she was thinking of selling. However, I asked questions, we assessed the situation, and instead figured it was best to hold this property. Instead of looking at my client as a transaction, I see them for what we are–human. It is my duty to ensure that with my guidance and counsel, we make the wisest move possible with best return on their investment(s).
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
Earlier this year, my clients were selling their home– the buyer’s agent also was negotiating to have certain repairs done for her client prior to, etc. For hours and for days straight; I was calling all my contractors and getting bids to ensure I had the best prices, quotes done by licensed professionals when it came to repairs. At times, fixing it ourselves was giving us a better return than providing the other party with contribution(s). My clients were so excited when I would have our reliable contractors out for a great price. I sold their home for over asking price. I made sure that my clients could get as much value in the sale of their home. My clients had almost 6 figures in revenue after costs, pay-off mortgage, etc. They were so thankful and am fortunate to now continue to assist their family and friends in other transactions thanks to their referrals. This is what grit and preservice is all about!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Again, to build a reputation to me at least, takes how I engage with each person I encounter no matter what. It all goes back to integrity and the impression you want to leave amongst others. Choosing to be honest and put your client’s interest above your own is a non-negotiable and a must.
