We were lucky to catch up with Karnage Beats recently and have shared our conversation below.
Karnage , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
The biggest risk I’ve taken was quitting my job and becoming a full time artist, it was definitely terrifying because I didn’t know what the future held but I always believed in myself, I always knew I was meant for more in this life. It’s been 2 years since I’ve become a full time artist and the results are astonishing, I’ve managed to achieve over 2 million plays, I’ve gained thousands of new supporters, I couldn’t be happier.
Karnage , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started out by simply making beats in my moms apartment at the young age of 15 and uploading them online, Only doing it as a hobby but as friends and family started hearing my beats they told me to try taking it seriously and try pursuing a music career. I personally feel like what sets me apart from others is that I’m not trying to fit into a certain sound or style, I just create from the heart, I’m not trying to be the next anybody, I just want to be the best version of myself.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist in my opinion is the fans, I have the best supporters in the world! Nothing makes my day like hearing someone tell you how your music inspired them, helped them through depression, ailments etc. It’s never taken for granted. SHOUT OUT TO THE KB ARMY I LOVE YOU ALL!
How did you build your audience on social media?
I managed to garner my audience by using forums to promote my work as well as my YouTube channel helped with gaining new supporters too, my best advice to anyone looking to gain support is to get active and put yourself out there, show the world your personality and always be yourself!
