We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Karmello Drip a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Karmello , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Guess I first knew when I was thinking what’s the next move after graduating from highschool. One of them nights smoking a bleezy thinking to yourself about life an how Time is passing fast. It felt natural I was comfortable, it’s like peanut butter met jelly so music stuck with me and everything that came with it. The lifestyle highs and lows but carrying yourself through the dark times with a tune or note towards the bigger picture. I’d seen people I knew and family I grew up with change for the worst so I just felt I wasn’t going to let that happen to me. There had to be a different path then the choices I had so I created one.

Karmello , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
If you didn’t know before, I’m a artist and entrepreneur building up my brand DirtySubliminalStonAz Entertainment. ( 30SsEnt. ) I work on music, clothing , designs, expanding to more gear and different parts of the entertainment like pictures, videos etc. I got introduced to the music business from my homie rigo and Manny when I was wildin out in my younger days. Had to get smart take it serious and show I meant business if I wanted to keep up. Stopped wasting money, doin stupid shit less, sat myself down and focused. Because I was getting tired of my own bullshit the older I got. Money comes and goes fast on things that won’t last so I knew I had to invest in myself. Since I was it had to be something to remember. I’m proud to say everything is still in motion, opportunities are coming, Brighter days on the horizon and y’all ain’t ready for this new work because I’m coming with that heat.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Love! The feeling I get, the hope it gives , the reason I create. I want to help myself and others so to do that I gotta love myself to give me the strength to lift up the world. And I love money lol

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
They would have a hard time seeing a better future, new ways to go about your life. Having a different perspective of the world and trying to understand the vision I describe. Keeping your mind alive and not stay in a box keeping your self down with bad vibes. Instead wanting to sleep to live in your dreams like I’ve felt before in my darker times you can make it so sometimes you can’t sleep because of the excitement you made reality.
