We recently connected with Karmel Murria and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Karmel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
11Eleven Spiritual is a brand that I created to spread positivity and enlightenment. I have found that so many of us dwell in the negative. I know because I was one of them. There were many times in my life and in my journey where I felt hopeless and stuck in a cycle of repeating the past and negative self talk. It was in these times that I began to work harder than ever and embark on a spiritual journey to build myself to live up to my greatest potential, but many times I fell falling back into old patterns and not taking heed to the divine guidance I was receiving.
Frustrated and tired I began to listen not with my ears but with my heart and it was in that moment I came up with 11Eleven Spiritual. A brand geared to helping others by simply giving messages that the divine gave to me. My goal was to uplift and give encouraging words that I sometimes didn’t get from others. I looked deep within myself and found my calling, my strength and the fire ignited in me to walk only in love and positivity. Today my soul mission is to share it with the world. My goal is to uplift others by spreading love together in order to awaken us to our true greatness. 11Eleven Spiritual is not just a brand its a mission. A mission that will lead us to our souls paths and ignite the fire in all of us.
Karmel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Karmel Murria. I am a 43 years young entrepreneur living in Atlanta Ga. I am originally from Memphis TN, I came to Atlanta to fulfil my dreams of being a songwriter and entrepreneur. I have always been very creative and spiritual. During my first few years in Atlanta it was very hard adapting and adjusting and my true journey began. I experienced hardships and depression which I can definitely say tested my faith to the core. I was tested on many levels and the only thing that kept me truly going was the divine guidance I was receiving. I decided one day to turn this into a clothing brand which I was divinely instructed to do. I was told by God to put the same messages right on every piece of fabric I produce and I did just that.
My brand is a brand that basically uses you to talk to someone else in need. So when your wear it your not just wearing it for you. Your wearing it so others can receive messages that are meant for them. Each article of clothing contains a fashionable specific message of hope, love and positivity and you never know if God will place you in front of the person that is meant to see it. My brand is a universal brand and anyone can wear it. I have hoodies, tees and, hats for all ages and sizes that come in many colorful variations that are sure to uplift. Service to others is something I truly believe we are all here for and this brand takes that to another level with style and comfort and this I am most proud of.
Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
When I first started my brand I had no idea where to start in terms of manufacturing. I first hired a man I met who had his own shop to make the clothes and print the messages using vinyl. The problem I ran into, was it cost a lot more to pay him to make the clothes and because he had his own clientele time was a issue as well . I ended up buying a heat press and I found a vinyl store and got right on you tube and taught myself how to make the clothes in 2 weeks. I started selling them at a local gym I was working out in and ended up having fantastic results. I would go to parks, pop up shops and store parking lots and sell them right out of my trunk . It worked great for a while but I started having another dilemma which was inventory. I would end up having way more sizes I couldn’t sell. I would have to give away a lot of my product. Also I ran into issues with the police who would say I was soliciting.
I met some great people from Pakistan and built a relationship and had them build me a website. I started drop shipping my items which has been a lot easier and affordable and I no longer have to worry with leftover inventory. Its not all peaches and cream though because drop shipping takes a lot of profit money but you don’t have to worry with the hassle of shipping it yourself or lost inventory. I must say I’ve had to learn an array of difficult lessons along the way but because of that I am whole a lot smarter in my business ventures and the way I handle manufacturing.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I would say the genuine feeling people get from wearing my clothes and everything it represents. People love the fact that there putting great energy out into the universe by wearing the clothes and spreading spirituality. My brand doesn’t just appeal to spiritual groups it appeals to all and because of that word of mouth has been my greatest factor.
