Karmashia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is defined by determination and having a mindset to win during tough situations. A business owner has to have determination and a mindset of winning. For example, you may have a event, that only produces limited sales, but keeping a positive entrepreneurship spirit that you were able to market and advertise will help you succeed. A business can only be as successful as the owner’s mindset.

Karmashia McDuffie’s Classy and Sassy Boutique, Creative Custom Design, and KGM Consulting business were founded in 2021 in North Carolina based on community in-kind and providing a helping hand to families and friends.
Karmashia is a creative individual who believes in the power of beauty and who knows how to transform basic things into beautiful things.
Kay decided after working at floral shops and assisting other customers with their custom designs, that she would take her ideas and make customers’ visions come alive. Kay has a diverse business background in management and organizational development.
She prides herself on her attention to detail, obsession with quality, and love for local crafts and jewelry designs. She continues to be recognized for her crisp, timeless style, designs, and beauty.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for building clientele has been customer service and superb customer satisfaction. If you have great customer service and happy customers, they will always be loyal and refer other customers. I believe in treating my customers like royalty.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients are referrals. Customers that are always happy want to share their royal experience with other people. Customers want to feel appreciated and they want to spend their money with companies that appreciate their business.
