Karlie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I never didn’t know I wanted to work in the world of entertainment and I never questioned that I wouldn’t. There are many things in life I look back on and can say “Wow, I never saw that coming or happening etc…” but the idea of it always being within my reach was consistent. I think we all know what we’re capable of – Some people run from it for various reasons and some people run to it. As a child, my parents gave me a solid foundation to explore. Year by year things fell into place. By the time I was a young teen I was already doing the things I love and setting myself up for the success I’ve found today (15+ years later).

Karlie Loland-Ringer is an American casting director, producer, and entrepreneur with a robust portfolio of projects and high-profile clients. With a focus on TV/film and fashion, Loland-Ringer has collaborated with top-tier media brands including Amazon Prime, Netflix, Lionsgate, Home Shopping Network/QVC, Hallmark Channel, Lifetime Movie Network, Vevo, and Universal Music Group, to name a few. With more than 15 years of in-depth industry experience, she has cultivated a notable niche in her field as a leader and creative visionary.
Loland-Ringer possesses more than a decade as a business owner, having founded diverse thread: creative lab in 2011 while based in New York City and later re-branding to KLR Creative Group. With accelerated growth in recent years, as a result of diligence and hard work, KLR Creative Group has expanded into the innovative brand known today, credited with a myriad of published projects and an ever-growing portfolio of talent. Beyond casting, production, creative services, photography and scouting, she offers her industry knowledge as a public speaker and guidance as a consultant for those looking to break into the world of entertainment and fashion.
Karlie Loland-Ringer’s goal of establishing a company with no creative bounds incited from a young age, stemming from her entrepreneurial spirit and early passion for the arts. In her teen years, she pursued every opportunity to work both in front and behind the camera – a dynamic agility which has served her well throughout her multifaceted career.
She has applied every professional opportunity garnered over the past decade towards growing her business acumen, industry network, and creative capabilities, towards the growth and strengthening of KLR Creative Group. Loland-Ringer’s professional and personal range is apparent not only in her career successes, but also in her altruistic efforts to give back and help those in need through philanthropy.
While primarily based on the east coast, she routinely travels between the industry’s larger markets, curating a lifestyle that inspires her to continuously evolve and progress towards greater achievements. To further her education and augment her skill set, Loland-Ringer is virtually pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree from Berklee College of Music. Ambition and purpose are what fuel her to create, cultivate, and conquer the goals set in place for KLR Creative Group.
When not traveling for work, Karlie resides in Ocala, Florida with her wife Amanda Ringer, their four dogs, and horses. The couple lives in the city known as the “Horse Capital of the World” as Ringer is a World-Champion equestrian and trainer, who is equally invested in her career as an athlete. Outside of their on-the-go lifestyle, the pair enjoys stealing r&r where they can, while exploring new destinations, and setting greater goals for their future.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Today I can say I believe that life works for you if you allow it – Even when we can’t grasp the how’s. Without going into too much, I wasn’t someone that embraced living in the now in prior years. A little over three years ago I met my wife, Amanda. The timing was unexpected and serendipitous in the same. I was gearing up to launch my casting company after working as a senior talent agent. Amanda was already established in her career as a professional athlete/trainer and World-Champion equestrian. I loved that she was equally invested in her own world. She lived in one place and I lived in another. With that said, neither of us knew how a casting director could live in the “Horse Capital of the World” full time or how Amanda could have a farm in a big city. Meeting her stopped me in my tracks and forced me to slow down for the first time. Trying to rationalize my next steps, I thought to myself “Well, it’ll be a lot easier for me to hop on flights and drive where I need to be then try to figure out how to have a full barn within city limits.”. Once I made my decision I never looked back! Here we are – Both thriving and living a beautiful life together! Amanda’s support of my creativity is unwavering and I’m so grateful for all of our happy “now’s”. I’ve even gotten to teach her the ropes of what I do and vice versa – Life is fun together! Coming out of the pandemic business has been better than ever and I’m proud to say KLR Creative Group has taken on over 25 films in just the last year. We have many exciting projects in the works and 2023 is already looking bright. You must trust where you are and know it’s where you’re meant to be.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
As a casting director, my job is to bring the vision of other storytellers to life through people in TV/Film. Nothing feels better than when you cast the perfect fit. We all win!
