We were lucky to catch up with Karli Auble recently and have shared our conversation below.
Karli, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
The journey to launching my business started in a completely unexpected direction. I was on track to start an MBA program because, as an executive in the defense industry, that’s the path everyone around me was following. I already had a master’s in Systems Engineering, and the MBA was seen as the next step for career growth. But something didn’t feel right. I’d been balancing a corporate career with my passion for supporting individuals, and that part of my life always brought me a sense of fulfillment.
Everything changed when I started working with a coach. She encouraged me to look beyond what was expected of me and to find a path that truly aligned with my passions. It was during those conversations that coaching itself felt like home. I began exploring it more deeply and came across a master’s program in Positive Psychology, which piqued my interest. Positive psychology is all about helping people flourish, and it connected so beautifully to my experience in both my personal and professional life.
I had already been certified in hypnobirthing, a practice that I had used for both of my children. The impact it had on me wasn’t limited to just labor—it carried me through the postpartum season and even found its way into how I approached challenges at work. It was such a powerful tool, and I felt this drive to share it with other women. But balancing that passion with my full-time job was a challenge, and I struggled to find the right format to offer courses that fit my life.
Then came my master’s in Positive Psychology. Every week began with a devotional, and though my capstone started off as a work project, something inside kept pulling me back toward supporting mothers and women. It was this combination of my personal experiences, my interest in hypnobirthing, and the studies I was reading about mindfulness and positive psychology that gave me the idea to blend these into a unique online childbirth course. My engineering background also gave me the confidence to dig into the data and research that supports the benefits of these practices, which I combined with the spiritual and emotional learning I had already embraced through hypnobirthing.
Once I had the idea, the next steps were a blend of excitement and logistical problem-solving. I had to figure out how to take this vision and turn it into something tangible. There was a lot of planning—balancing my professional life with building an online platform, creating course content, videos, and ensuring it aligned with the science I was so passionate about. I sought guidance from my peers and professors who gave me invaluable feedback, helping me refine the course into something that not only helped with labor but also prepared women for the mental, emotional, and physical journey of motherhood.
Looking back, the process from idea to execution wasn’t about following a linear path. It was about listening to my heart, blending my passions with my expertise, and finding the courage to pursue a nontraditional route. The course I created is more than just a capstone project—it’s an expression of everything I believe in when it comes to empowering women through one of the most transformational experiences of their lives.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My work sits at the intersection of coaching, childbirth education, and empowerment for women. My journey into this field has been quite organic. By profession, I’m an engineering manager in the defense industry, and while I’ve built a successful career in that space, I’ve always felt drawn to something deeper—supporting women through one of the most transformative experiences of their lives: childbirth.
I began my journey into childbirth education after the birth of my two children, both of whom I delivered using hypnobirthing techniques. The empowerment I felt during labor left a lasting impression, and I wanted to share that with other women. That’s when I got certified as a hypnobirthing instructor and started teaching. I quickly realized that these tools weren’t just useful during labor—they were helpful in the postpartum season and even found their way into my day-to-day life at work. I saw how the same principles that kept me calm and centered during childbirth could help women navigate life’s challenges with grace and confidence.
I eventually pursued a master’s degree in Positive Psychology, which opened up a whole new layer of understanding and could help in both personal and professional life. Positive psychology is all about helping people thrive by focusing on their strengths, which aligned so perfectly with my childbirth work. The result is an online Positive Childbirth Course I created that blends hypnobirthing, positive psychology, mindfulness, and practical techniques to help women prepare for labor and beyond. My clients not only learn how to have a positive birth experience but also gain tools to carry with them into motherhood and everyday life.
One thing that sets me apart is my unique combination of backgrounds. As a systems engineer, I thrive on data and research, so everything I teach is backed by evidence and science. But I also value the emotional and spiritual aspects of childbirth, which is why I incorporate mindfulness and visualization techniques into my work. This blend of the practical and the spiritual is at the heart of what I do, and it’s what makes my approach different.
In addition to my online course, I’m incredibly proud of a bi-monthly Life and Labor Women’s Meetup I host. It’s a free event where women from all walks of life gather to share, connect, and learn from expert guest speakers. We’ve had topics ranging from finances to sex education, to gut health and relationships. It’s a wonderful opportunity for women to come together in a safe and supportive environment, share their stories, and learn from one another. The community aspect is so important to me because life in general is better when we have a village around us.
At the heart of what I do is a desire to help women feel empowered—whether it’s in labor, in the transition to motherhood, or in navigating life’s big changes. My goal is to provide tools and support that enable my clients to approach these transitions with confidence, clarity, and calm. Whether through my Positive Childbirth Course, one-on-one coaching, or our women’s meetups, I want to help each woman thrive in her own unique way.
What I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve seen this work have on women. Knowing that I’ve played a role in helping someone experience childbirth as something powerful and beautiful or helped them transition into motherhood with more confidence is incredibly fulfilling. What I want potential clients to know is that I’m not just here to teach a course—I’m here to walk alongside them as they prepare for one of the most important experiences of their lives. Whether they’re preparing for birth, navigating postpartum, or simply looking for ways to thrive in their day-to-day lives, I believe every woman deserves support, tools, and a community to help her along the way.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the stories that really stands out to me when I think about resilience happened during one of the early Life and Labor Women’s Meetups. I was excited for the event, we had a wonderful expert speaker lined up, and I had been promoting it with so much energy. But when the day came… no one showed up. Not a single attendee. I remember feeling awkward, embarrassed, and a bit defeated as I sat there waiting, wondering if this idea I was so passionate about was even worth continuing.
But then something unexpected happened. The speaker, who had come ready to share her expertise, and I sat down and just started talking. We connected deeply, not just about the topics she was going to present, but about our lives, our goals, and our shared passion for supporting women. What could have been a very uncomfortable situation turned into one of the best conversations I’ve had. That expert has since become a genuine friend and a huge supporter of what I’m doing.
That experience taught me a powerful lesson about resilience and leaning into discomfort. Just because things don’t go as planned doesn’t mean they aren’t worthwhile. Since then, I’ve had people attend the meetups and express how impactful the events have been for them, often commenting on how the timing of the discussions lined up perfectly with something they were going through in their own lives.
Those conversations have been a reminder to me that even if the numbers aren’t always big or the outcomes aren’t what I expect, the impact is still there. It has given me the confidence to keep moving forward, even when things feel uncomfortable or uncertain. Leaning into that discomfort has helped me stay committed to the mission of creating a supportive community for women, and it’s reminded me that real growth happens in those moments when we push through the awkwardness and keep showing up.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
My side hustle has not turned into a full time business, in fact, we’ve made $0 so far. I’m still trying to understand how I can turn this passion and scale it, but right now I’m focusing on the fact that I’m passionate and able to help so many women, and I know the rest will follow.
