Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Karina Montes vizcarra. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Karina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?

I am a Painter so I am my own boss. When I was younger, I had various types of work, saleswoman, waitress, hostess, etc. But my path went hand in hand with creativity, so I started making hand-carved jewelry, bags, etc. And so little by little I grew, now I I dedicate myself to painting and sculpting, and I exhibit my work in galleries, on September 2 I will have a single show “Emotional Landscapes” at dark art Emporium, it is in long beach, I feel very grateful to be able to continue doing my art and I can’t imagine working on something else.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Since I was little I have been very creative, and I was always doing things with my hands. I confirmed that as I grew, art accompanied me and served as a catharsis. It helped me a lot to express many difficult situations that I went through, and it was also my safe place. I invented a fantasy world to escape from the reality that I was living, and since then I have not really stopped creating, I paint creatures, mixtures of humans with animals, I love nature and it is a great source of inspiration for me, I also sculpt with ceramic clay and other techniques, I find it very relaxing and fun.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

Well, as I had mentioned, I was very creative since I was a child, I grew up with little money, so I didn’t have the opportunity to go shopping a lot and have beautiful and good quality things, so I made arrangements for my clothes to make them look beautiful and original. , I made earrings, bags and they began to attract the attention of other people, and they asked me if I could make one for those people and that they would pay me, that’s how I began to make accessories and bags, and painted and handmade jewelry, little by little I was earning more money from that, and I also focused on painting more and dedicating myself more to producing my work.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

Social media help me a lot, like Instagram , and the shows at Galleries.
