We recently connected with Karina Jules and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Karina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you manage your own social media?
I am a part of two wonderful teams.
1. Supermoms: This phenomenal non-profit is led by founder, Nalene Baker. We have a group of moms that work together as a team to manage the social media.
2. Dynamic Mom Duo: This social media account is shared between myself and my cousin, Roseiby Jackson. We manage our own social media as well.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Karina Jules. I have been married to my summer fling Geoff Jules for 9 years and we have two beautiful children (Emy 3 and Austin 7). When my son was younger, he was not in daycare and I wanted to ensure that he was socialized, I stumbled upon Nalene and she introduced me to Supermoms. It wasn’t long before I jumped in and became one of the leaders. Supermoms have grown so much since it started. Supermoms is now a certified 501c3 non-profit organization with a passion for giving back to the community. Our core values are Family, Community, and Fun!
Supermoms host quarterly community birthday parties. Together we celebrate a child’s milestone and encourage them to socialize with other children in the community. We also serve the community by hosting diaper drives, pajama drives, painting positive quotes in school bathroom stalls and collecting/distributing items to the homeless community.
Being a mom has its challenges and when you hear it takes a village to raise a child, boy is it true! In 2020, I moved back to Hillsborough County closer to my cousin, Roseiby. It has been great raising our children together with an occasional girl’s night out! In 2022 we started Dynamic Mom Duo, where we share the journey of being parents. You get a glimpse of our lives making memories with & without our children.
Supermoms and Dynamic Mom Duo are my community and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In addition to social media, I also work a full-time job serving pregnant teens in the child welfare community. Although I wear many hats, it all falls back to Supermoms’ core values of Family, Community and Fun!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’m pretty sure a lot of entrepreneurs can relate… One day you’re living your normal life and then PLOT TWIST…. COVID19 made its grand entrance. Supermoms went from having outdoor playdates and being out to the community to being stuck at home. As a team we had to get very creative on how to be present for the community. We continued to be a resource by having zoom parities, hosting giveaways and doing virtual drives for the homeless (thanks Amazon!). Two years later, we are slowly trying to get back out in the real world and continue serving the community.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
The mission always falls back to our core values of family, community and fun!
