We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kari Evans a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kari, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I thinks being successful is a mindset! It requires you confront those limiting beliefs that has and will hinder you from moving forward.
True success is being fulfilled in life doing the thing you were put on this earth to do all while being authentically you elevating in all areas of your life mentally, spiritually, physically.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Kari Evans a Certified Trichologist (hair loss specialist), Naturopathic Wellness coach, and Business Consultant. I have been an entrepreneur for over 15 years. Throughout my journey I’ve made several mistakes and had several setbacks, and this is what motivated me to be a light unto others path to help them avoid a lot of the mistakes I’ve made. I’ve experienced divorce, Health issues, and hair loss while on this journey of entrepreneurship. After my divorce, hair loss, and health scare I began to sit back and think about what success truly is which is why I came up with Purposed Prosperity LLC. A consulting company who wishes above all things that you may prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. We help women entrepreneurs go from living a life of restriction poverty and unfulfillment to living a limitless life of purpose balance and prosperity. We do this by educating them on how to build and structure their business, transform their mindset to boldly walk in the role of true leadership while breaking the chains of poverty using Kingdom principles and strategies. Being successful is not only about material possessions its about being successful in your thinking, your health, your spirit, and your finances. This why we coach other entrepreneurs how to prosper in every area of their life.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
2020 was a very critical time for me the world was in the middle of a pandemic, and I was going through a divorce. My life had drastically changed. There was no time to strategize I had to quickly pivot into a new way of living as a single mother and business owner. I had to focus on home schooling my children, while continuing to manage my business with new stipulations and equipment. Having to worry about providing for my children and remaining safe so I wouldn’t make my children sick were just a few difficult decisions I had to make. Going through this situation has taught me the importance of knowing how to make effective decisions when unexpected events arise in your life or business and doing so with wisdom and patience, because to whom much is given much is required.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to stop thinking that just because I am an entrepreneur, I can do whatever I want whenever I want. This is quite the contrary. When I first began my journey as an entrepreneur, I failed in the first year because of my way of thinking. I had to change the way I viewed entrepreneurship. After feeling like I’ve failed at being a business owner I decided to get educated on how to effectively run a business. Thats when a light bulb went off, I lacked the understanding of how to manage a business. Being an entrepreneur is not about doing whatever I want whenever I want. It was about properly managing my business to create financial freedom & time freedom so that I could do what I want when I want.
