Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Karen Saakian. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Karen, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My journey in the world of tattooing began in Pyatigorsk, in the North Caucasus. At that time, tattoos were not very common and were even frowned upon in this region. Despite these challenges, I found my calling and started learning and developing as a tattoo artist.
Throughout the years, I’ve always been characterized by self-reliance and the determination to overcome obstacles. In the early stages of my career, I had the support of my father and my best friend, for which I am deeply grateful.
Today, I continue my work in this industry, still finding joy in what I do and constantly striving for creative growth and innovation in my work.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’d be delighted to introduce myself to those who may not be familiar with my work. I am a tattoo artist with a deep passion for this craft. My journey into the world of tattooing began in Pyatigorsk, in the North Caucasus, where tattoos were not widely accepted at the time. Despite these challenges, I was drawn to the art form and decided to pursue it.
Over the years, I’ve honed my skills and gained experience by working in various countries, including those in the European Union and the United States. My focus is on creating meaningful and unique tattoo designs that carry personal significance for my clients.
What sets me apart is my commitment to authenticity and craftsmanship. I take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety in my studio to provide a comfortable and secure environment for my clients.
I’m currently working on a book about tattoos and have plans for a new business venture in the near future, although I can’t reveal the details just yet. I’m also preparing material for masterclasses and professional development for fellow tattoo artists.
What I’m most proud of is my dedication to my craft and the meaningful connections I’ve built with my clients over the years. I want potential clients and followers to know that I approach each tattoo as a unique work of art and am committed to creating designs that hold deep significance for the individuals I work with. My brand is all about authenticity, quality, and innovation in the world of tattoo art.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Yes, during my creative journey, I’ve found that having access to extensive online resources and communities would have been very beneficial if I had known about them earlier. These resources include online courses, forums, and platforms for exchanging experiences with other tattoo artists and artists. They provide an excellent opportunity for learning, inspiration, and expanding one’s knowledge and skills

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I don’t have a specific mission; I just want to bring positive emotions to people and do it in the best way I know how
